TUKS Young Research Leader Programme is to identify early career academics who have demonstrated leadership potential and an interest in developing key leadership skills. The last date to apply for the programme is April 22, 2024.

University of Pretoria offers TUKS Young Research Leader Programme

The University of Pretoria is currently accepting applications for the TUKS Young Research Leader Programme. The program is offered jointly by the Africa Science Leadership Programme (ASLP), Inclusive Innovation, Robert Bosch Stiftung and the University of Pretoria.

TUKS Young Research Leader Programme serves early career researchers in basic and applied sciences, social sciences, engineering, humanities and arts. The application deadline is April 22, 2024.

  • A research fellowship with 2 years of experience or a faculty position at the University of Pretoria
  • Outstanding scientific potential and outputs
  • A desire to nurture a culture of research excellence
  • Internationally influential, but South Africa and Africa focused
  • A desire to work collaboratively on inter and trans-disciplinary problems
  • An appetite for multiple stakeholder engagement, research communication 
  • Commitment to participate in all the activities of the fellowship

"To be selected, applicants need to display a compelling vision of their future involvement in the development of research projects, programmes, human capacity, specific policies, or societal structures. The selection process will consider individual qualities but also focus on ensuring a diversity of culture, subject background (natural and social sciences, humanities), and gender among the fellows," reads the official statement.








International students at University of Pretoria

The admissions for 2024 are closed at the university. As per the data provided by the university, in 2020, there were a total of 3 205 Indians, in 2021 - 3 516, and in 2022 - 3 452.

The General Academic Regulations (GAR) or G Regulations should provide answers to any questions you might have on admission, registration, study periods, examinations and much more, from undergraduate to postgraduate studies. Consult the Yearbooks for information on which modules to choose and the curriculum. You can pay by credit card or cheque card online or at the bank 5 days ahead of registration," said the official notification.
