The Master of Arts in Writing is an advanced degree program designed to cultivate students' creative, technical, and professional writing skills across various genres and mediums
This interdisciplinary program provides a foundation in both the craft of writing and the study of literature, offering students the opportunity to explore fiction, nonfiction, poetry, screenwriting, journalism, and more
Through workshops, seminars, and individual projects, students refine their ability to express ideas clearly and creatively, while developing a unique voice

Paula Carter
Paula Carter Carter is the author of the flash memoir collection No Relation. Her award-winning essays have appeared in The New York Times, USA Today, Kenyon Review, The Southern Review, Prairie Schooner, Creative Nonfiction, Fourth Genre, The Offing and elsewhere. She was an Administrative Staff Fellow at the Bread Loaf Environmental Conference in 2022 and 2023 and her work has been supported by Ragdale and the Shannaghe Artists Residency
