Cory Buxton
Cory A. Buxton is a professor in the College of Education at Oregon State University. Before coming to OSU, Buxton was Athletic Association Professor of Education at the University of Georgia and a former high school science and ESOL teacher. His research aims to foster more equitable and engaging science learning opportunities for all students and especially for immigrant and migrant students and emergent bilingual learners. His most recent work is on creating spaces where students, parents, teachers, and researchers can engage together as co-learners while strengthening their academic relationships, their knowledge of science and engineering practices and careers, and their ownership of the language of science. His research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Education, and several private foundations

Sara Wright
Sara Wright has a bachelor's degree in Food Systems Management with an option in Dietetics, and a masters of arts in teaching from Oregon State University. Sara is currently certified to teach Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) and Health education in the k-12 classroom. She was first hired at Sweet Home High School to teach Family and Consumer Sciences, direct the teen parent program, and coach high school basketball and volleyball. Sara then moved to Corvallis High School where she taught FACS courses such as culinary arts, child development, nutrition, economics, and apparel design. Sara has taught in the public school system for over 16 years, as a full time FACS teacher as well as a subsitute teacher in k-12 classes. She spends as much time as she can in the classroom as a parent volunteer, teacher and supervisor of student teachers. Sara is the newsletter editor, Public Relations Coordinator and board member for Oregon Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. At Oregon State University, Sara is an instructor in the Double Degree Progam teaching methods courses and working with student teachers in the middle and high school authorizations. Sara is the Family and Consumer Sciences and Health liaison for teachers earning their endorsements in Health and FACS. As a alumni of Oregon State Womens Basketball team, Sara supports the womens basketball team as a board member on the Rebounders, a board of community members that work to support the women's basketball tea
