Christopher Wilson, College of Health Professions, is a recipient of University of Phoenix’s 2020 Faculty of the Year Award. Of more than 1,300 nominations from students, faculty and staff, only 15 faculty members receive this annual recognition in honor of their excellence. When Christopher Wilson took his kids to the Oregon State Fair in August 2004, he wasn’t thinking about school. He wasn’t thinking about his own background, which included a difficult childhood and 15 years of military service, part of which was spent in the Bosnian War. But that visit to the fair would prove as transformative as those experiences.
