Overall, it is a good college for learning new things.
Placements: About 90% of students got placed last year. The highest salary package offered is 56 LPA, and the average salary package offered is 20 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 15 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Tata, Google, Meta, Microsoft, Infosys, Laursen and Tourbo, Wipro, and Goldman Sachs visit our college to hire students from my course.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure available for our course are very good. The library is also very sophisticated. Labs are very clean and good for conducting practicals. Wi-Fi is available on the campus. The quality of the food available in the mess is good.
Faculty: Teachers here are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable in the North campus. They teach qualities in core subjects is very good and excellent. The difficult level of the semester exams is minimal and not so easy. The pass percentage of the semester exams is 80%.

NIE (The National Institute of Engineering North Campus) not NIT, guys!
Placements: The highest: 28 LPA, Avg: 12 LPA, the lowest: 5 LPA. This is for the 2025 batch. Still, the placement is on the way, but overall placement is above average, not so good, but trying to improve. Let’s see what happens to our batch. Top recruiters are Hello Doc, Fidelity, Visa, Wipro.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is okay, not that much fancy. Wi-Fi is there, but it’s of no use, barely works. Classrooms are well-maintained with smartboards, and yes, the hostels are pretty good. But the only con I find is the location—it’s out of the city, so it feels like you went for a trip to a safari or in a forest.
Faculty: The examination department is very strict, and facilities are pretty good. The difficulty level is easy to medium, especially I’m talking about our CSE department. I don’t know about others. Pass percentage is 90%, I guess, and yeah, teachers are helpful and supportive.
Other: Campus life is so boring, don’t come here if you are looking for a happening campus.

Decent placements, limited facilities, and dull, boring college life
Placements: Approximately 90% of students secured placements. The highest package was 42 LPA, and the lowest was 4 LPA. The average was around 10 LPA. Top recruiting companies were Infosys, Wipro, and Capgemini. Roles were of software developer, data analyst, and system engineer.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are quite basic, honestly. There are a few classrooms in the north campus, and sometimes classes are held in the lab due to a shortage of classrooms. Sports facilities are a big disappointment, with only a few options. The canteen food is average, with 1-2 items that are actually tasty. The hostel mess food is particularly bad, making you avoid it entirely. It's so unappetizing that even South Indians struggle with it, let alone North Indians. The food in the North campus is a bit better— edible and sometimes tasty as well.
Faculty: The faculties at NIE are a mixed bag. While some teachers are helpful and engage well with students, there are others who fail miserably at teaching. The curriculum, unfortunately, is far from making students industry-ready, but to be honest, that's an issue across many colleges in India. The plus point is the semester exams, which are quite manageable and chilled. You will have plenty of time to focus on your side hustle.
Other: I chose ISE primarily due to my interest in the tech field. The best aspect of the college is the clubs, which can help in networking opportunities and provide a diverse campus crowd. However, the college falls short in many areas. Fests are very rare, and the north campus doesn't feel like a college campus but just a set of buildings. The curriculum could be significantly improved to get the students ready for the real-world challenges. The college timings (9 to 5) are also a downside, and it leaves us with little time for hobbies or things for personal interest. A more relaxed and flexible schedule will benefit students.

Review about The National Institute of Engineering, Mysore (North Campus).
Placements: 95% of students were placed in my course last year. The highest package was about 45 LPA, the lowest was 8 LPA, and the average is 12-13 LPA. The top recruiters are Infosys, TCS, Wipro, L&T, etc. To be honest, what I have heard is that the students can easily get internships from this college.
Infrastructure: There are a lot of canteens to eat from. The infrastructure is quite decent. Wi-Fi facility is available to all students. There are plenty of labs and classrooms. The library has a vast amount of books in it. Hostel facilities are good, with Wi-Fi facility around 50 Mbps, and a gym inside the hostel campus. Cricket, football, and badminton can be played in the hostel. The food is decent, not too good.
Faculty: The faculty-student relationships are quite good here. They are very approachable. There is also a proctor system where each student gets a proctor assigned to them who helps us with our queries and study-related issues, and even college-related issues. The teaching quality is very good. They are helpful, knowledgeable, and qualified. The course curriculum is very relevant, and yes, it makes the students industry-ready. The semester exams are moderately difficult. The pass percentage is about 80%.

Review on The National institute of Engineering, North campus.
Placements: The college assures 100 percent placement for students who have cleared all the subjects by the end of the course. The average package is around 9 LPA. Most students are placed with a package of 4 to 5 lacs. The highest package for the AIML branch, which was also the first year for AIML because it started two years ago, is 23 LPA. The highest package in the college is 67 LPA. The course offers a pretty decent curriculum, supporting students to gain knowledge and learn various things. Infosys is one of the main recruiters, along with JP Morgan, HP, Microsoft, and Schneider Electronics, etc.
Infrastructure: The college has a Wi-Fi connection, but it is not available in all parts of the college. I am a day scholar, so I don't know much about the hostel. The college has a decent hostel building and a well-articulated college building. Although students complain about the food, it's mainly because they are from different parts of the state and country. The hostel food is mainly Mysore cuisine, which is quite tasty.
Faculty: The college has 2 internals and 1 semester exam for every semester, along with 2 quizzes for courses worth more than one credit. For single-credit subjects, there are only 3 quizzes and no exams. Along with this, the college provides various internship opportunities. The semester-end exams are quite easy and cannot be neglected, although the paper might appear hard, as the correction is mostly liberal.
Other: I got a KCET seat. NIE and JCE are the only two good colleges in Mysore, so I joined here. I got a 6k rank and could have gotten into CSE easily, but I preferred AIML as it is a blooming branch. The college has one main fest and various branch fests. Although they are average, they are enjoyable. The college has two campuses that are 15 km apart, which clashes with the routine for events, and that is the biggest problem.

Good placements, tough curriculum, average infrastructure and bare minimum facilities.
Placements: There were more than 70% students placed with an average package of 11 LPA in CSE. Overall, the packages offered range around 8-9 LPA including all branches. The highest package is around 60 LPA and the lowest is around 3 LPA. Top recruiters include many different companies but it varies every year. JP Morgan and Mercedes Benz are some of the top hiring companies.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is relatively poor, it only has two buildings, 1 academic block and 1 administrative block in the north campus. It's just too far away from the main city and they don't have enough hostel occupancy in the north campus so most of the first years have to stay in the south campus hostel and travel 1.5hrs daily.
Faculty: The teachers are good and helpful, but the attendance system has a 85% attendance requirement. Due to the travel time, there is barely any time left for self development. There is CIE and semester end exams which hold the same weightage. CIE is continuous internal evaluation which comprises of two mid semester tests and 2 quizzes.
Other: I chose this college as it seemed to be giving a better ROI than most of the other colleges in north but it's hard to live here and everyday would make you regret not studying more for your entrance exams. Many things can be improved such as introducing DSA in the 2nd semester itself along with not spoon feeding coding subjects to the students. There are absolutely no gracious and joyful fests, or events held, just some clubs begging you to join them by paying a fee.
