IIMs will allow students to take admissions in their online MBA programs even without CAT. Here are some ways to do so:
1. By Taking the IIMA Admission Test (IAT)
IAT is an online test designed for candidates who cannot apply with conventional test scores like CAT, GMAT, or GRE. The IAT will be conducted at specific exam centres across India and at the IIMA Dubai centre. A list of exam centres is available in the application portal. The format of the IAT is similar to other management tests. The test duration is 90 minutes and includes 45 questions from three sections:
- Quantitative Aptitude
- Analytical Reasoning
- Verbal Aptitude
2. By Taking EMAT
An Executive Management Aptitude Test (EMAT) will take place which will be followed by a personal interview. EMAT will be conducted online which assesses the logical, numerical and verbal ability of the applicant. This test filters out applicants to the program by assessing the capabilities of applicants in an objective manner. This is a one-hour-long test that consists of 40 questions. After that, a personal interview will be conducted in front of the IIMK panel. The score of the interview process will be standardized and accordingly a minimum cut-off for the interview will be decided.
