Review of School of Open Learning, University of Delhi.
Placements: DU SOL does not provide any internship or placement opportunities for B.A. students. However, this year, SOL arranged placements for two MBA students, offering them a package of around 4.1 LPA. Additionally, SOL plans to introduce internships for other courses in the upcoming year. SOL is consistently improving and striving to offer the best placement opportunities for its students.
Infrastructure: My study center, Motilal Nehru College, had a very beautiful infrastructure. It had well-maintained, average-sized classrooms with projectors, but Wi-Fi was not available. Some classrooms were poorly maintained, lacking even a proper floor.
Faculty: Teachers at SOL are not very helpful for students, as they often fail to clarify doubts. While they possess good knowledge and qualifications, their teaching quality is not adequate for students. In the case of my course, B.A., it does not sufficiently prepare students for the industry. Semester exams are not overly challenging, with approximately 75–90% of students passing every year.
Other: I chose this course because I find it easy to understand.

Dynamic Education and Vibrant Campus where Learning Meets Diversity and Innovation!
Placements: Batches that offer an immersive and hands-on learning experience are highly recommended for a comprehensive education. The course focuses on two main subjects and is designed to be easily understood. Students have a high success rate in passing exams, and internships are available on a monthly and yearly basis through both private and government organizations. These internships provide opportunities in roles such as data entry operator, customer support executive, salesperson, and more.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure for courses and hostels is top-notch, providing a conducive environment for learning with modern and comfortable facilities. All necessary amenities, such as a canteen, medical facilities, library, and sports field, are available. The quality of the facilities at the college is easily accessible.
Faculty: The faculty members are highly knowledgeable, and the curriculum is well-structured. Online videos are available on portals, and the exams are fair, creating a positive learning experience. The teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable. The exams are average and easy to pass, but the passing percentage is not very high.
Other: The practical approach of this course is one of its best features. It helps to improve communication skills and enhances the overall experience. The campus hosts lively events and festivals, and the crowd is diverse. The connectivity is convenient, and the surrounding environment is vibrant. The university offers scholarships, and extracurricular activities are encouraged, making the educational journey well-rounded.

Crowd, infrastructure, and studies are good.
Placements: Approximately 30 percent of students were placed last year in the B.A. program. 5 lacs per annum was the highest package, 3 lacs per annum was the average and 2 lacs was the lowest package offered by my course. 40–45 percent of students got internships from my course last year.
Infrastructure: Facilities are quite good, like better drinking water and a fully ventilated classroom with high-speed fans. Buildings are well maintained in terms of painting, plaster, etc. I am not a member of the hostel, so I do not have full information regarding it. But food quality is both hygienic and tasty.
Faculty: Teachers are very polite towards us and helpful in understanding different concepts. Yes, the curriculum decided by the university is UGC-approved and covers all the relevant topics that are necessary to study. Semester are not much more difficult; it depends upon how much time you have spent studying. Pass percentage varies semester-wise; it is around 60%.
Other: I have an interest in these courses.

DU SOL is an option for working students.
Placements: When you do graduation from DuSol, forget about placements; you have to find a job while doing graduation on your own. It can help you meet your requirements to have a degree, except that it has no use but if you are preparing for any competitive exam, then it is the best decision.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure was good, as you can go to any college in Delhi University and find good buildings. In many colleges, you can feel like it is your own but only for a day or two, as you can go to college on weekends. The library can also be used by Sol students.
Faculty: Exams were on time, and faculty was always helpful. Exams were not that hard; anyone who can write can easily pass. When you choose B.A., you will definitely like it, as it will change your whole perspective. At the time of your graduation, you will find yourself a more complete and genuine person.

School of Open Learning DU.
Placements: The SOL does not provide any kind of placement. No students were placed in any companies from the School of Open Learning. Hence, if you want placement, then you should not prefer the SOL. No roles were offered, and no interviews were conducted. No efforts were made for the placement of the students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the building is good and attractive. College does not provide WiFi facilities to their students. Classrooms are old and need to be designed and renovated. The quality of food in the canteen is average. There is no hostel for SOL students. Students participate in various sports and games at the University of Delhi, but there are no games and sports facilities for the SOL students. However, apart from all these things, the library is genuine and good. Students can borrow books.
Faculty: The most of faculty are adhoc basis professor and they are not permanent. The professors are well qualified but not too much professional. However, some of them teach very well and some not. The course of B.A. is very relevant and provides you knowledge of different topics related to your society and surrounding. The exams are quite difficult and may be challenging but you can crack them by focusing on your studies. 40% is the minimum marks you need to pass.
Other: This course content and curriculum was the extension of Humanities studies which I have done in my 11th and 12th class. I couldn't choose the B.Com and B.Sc. hence I prefer this one. The college should improve the way of learning and they should improve the quality of classes. They should also provide the scholarship and placement to SOL students. The festivals and events should also organize for the SOL students.

Q:   How is the overall infrastructure of DU SOL?

A:
{Source: B.A. students & alumni]

DU SOL Campus Life offers students a flexible dress code policy, with no additional expenses for books or college events. The mess food is of acceptable quality and hygiene standards. Attendance policies allow students to miss classes without penalties, but rule breakers may receive warnings. The college culture values diverse backgrounds and supports students with designated teachers and student representatives. The academic life focuses on semester-based exams, easy exam preparation using textbooks, and a well-stocked library. Security measures include guards and CCTV cameras, and outsiders cannot enter the campus unchecked. The college takes a strict stance against ragging and requires permission to leave hostel premises. All modes of transportation are available from the campus.

Based on the reviews provided, the overall infrastructure of the college is mixed. Some reviewers have praised the college's infrastructure, mentioning the cleanliness and spaciousness of the hostels, the availability of sports facilities and the quality of the libraries. However, other reviewers have expressed dissatisfaction with the college's infrastructure, citing issues such as poor quality of food in the canteen, lack of hostel facilities and poor maintenance of facilities. Additionally, some reviewers have mentioned that the college does not listen to student feedback and does not take action to address issues.

Summary: The college has both positive and negative aspects when it comes to its infrastructure. While some reviewers have praised the cleanliness and availability of facilities, others have experienced difficulties with the quality of food and the maintenance of facilities. It is important for the college to address these issues and work towards providing a more consistent and satisfactory experience for all students.

Cut off till 2021 was decided on the 12th marks basis . But since government has now introduced CUCET , so this batch will be the first to give this exam. 12th marks as a base for cut offs has now ended . Therefore, previous years cut offs will not help you much in this year's selection.
