Only dual degree CSE department students will get placed easily, while for others, it's very difficult to get placed in potential and core companies.

All about NIT Rourkela.
Placements: Almost 90% of students got placed in the institute last year. The highest salary package offered was 80 LPA, and the average salary package offered was 20 LPA. The median salary package offered was 21.6 LPA. Most students secured internships in many companies like Paypal, Razorpay, etc., in their third year. Top roles offered were software roles, BFSI, and management roles.
Infrastructure: Many facilities like music room, gym, reading room, and TV Room are available in hostel along with WI-FI facility. The food facilities are average. Every necessary facility like canteen, medical items, and even sports items are provided which are of good quality.
Faculty: Faculty members are well-qualified and highly knowledgeable. However, their teaching methods are not appropriate for all students. Course curriculum is not industry-relevant and is quite outdated. However, many subjects which are important are introduced in third year. Semester exams are quite difficult.
Other: I chose this course because I got Computer Science branch in the college. Subjects that are present in the curriculum are not fit for the industry. Campus crowd is the best part of the college as every student is quite smart. Fests like Cosmo, Innovision, Vriddhi, and Nitrutsav are conducted throughout the year.

NIT Rourkela: One of the best engineering colleges.
Placements: Most probably from the 3rd year, you are eligible for campus placement and many companies like Google, Infosys, TCS, Amazon, and Reliance visit NIT Rourkela. The highest package this year, which is 1.2 crore, is from the Electronics and Communication branch. The average package of NIT Rourkela is around 11 to 12 LPA, and 90% of students get placed in NIT Rourkela. In most of the cases, the non-placed students opt for higher studies and that’s the reason they did not go for placement.
Infrastructure: In the first year, you may feel that many subjects are not important for your core field or branch, but you may get help from those subjects later in your life. The curriculum at NIT Rourkela is very good, and the course will help you to know other branches also. The hostel is very big, but the rooms may feel small for two people. The mess food is good, with a 7-day, 7-different menu. The gym and sports facilities are also good, as they are present in the hostel, and the medical facilities are also good.
Faculty: All the faculty members are very good and try to reach every student and help them. After teaching, they try to ask each and every student whether they have understood or not. The classrooms are big and well-accustomed. In every semester, you will have two exams: one mid-semester exam, which is of 30 marks, and another end-semester exam, which will consist of 50 marks and the rest 20 marks will be the TA marks, which will be given by the faculty members based on your class performance. The passing marks in the semester are 5 CGPA.
Other: My course, B. Tech in Mining Engineering is a good course with 57 students in my batch, and mining is one of the important core sectors. In NIT Rourkela, there is almost 100% placement in many engineering branches, and the average package lies between 10 to 12 LPA. There are many events and fests in NIT Rourkela, and they are organized very well. There are several cultural clubs that you can join based on your hobby or interest. The campus is fully lush green, with lots of trees and happiness.

Best facilities are in our college.
Placements: 80% of students are placed every year in our college. The highest packages is 44 LPA and the lowest packages are 3.2 to 5 LPA, with an average package of 7 to 9 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Infosys, IBM, Google, Meta, Genpact, etc. More than 500 students are placed in good companies for internships as well as jobs guarantees.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good and newly painted. Most of the area is green, both inside and outside the college. Our department is the best because we get all the facilities from them, like exam books, internet connections, Wi-Fi and clean classrooms. Hostel food is good.
Faculty: Teachers are well trained and have more years of experience in teaching. They are well qualified from top-reputed colleges. The teaching facilities in our college, especially in our courses, are very good. The course curriculum is relevant to new trends and students learn practically, which makes them ready for the industry. For the semester exams like 7th and 8th, the passing percentage is 67%.

Wholesome package at NITR.
Placements: Almost everyone gets placed as long as they avoid backlogs and maintain good discipline. This year, the highest package offered was 85 LPA, while the median package was 20+ LPA, and the lowest package was 6.5 LPA. Top tech giants like Amazon and Microsoft visited the campus, offering high packages. Other companies like AMEX also provided impressive opportunities. A compulsory 8-week internship in the third year ensures students gain valuable industry exposure. Many internships led to PPOs, with roles ranging from junior team positions to high-level positions for students excelling in their domains.
Infrastructure: Hostels are well-equipped with facilities like free Wi-Fi, study rooms, game rooms, and 24/7 canteens. However, the mess food quality is a concern, though recent reforms are improving it.
Faculty: The faculty emphasizes practical learning over theoretical knowledge, ensuring students acquire workplace-ready skills. The curriculum has been updated following NEP guidelines. However, some students find certain first-year subjects, like Safety Engineering for CSE or AIML for Civil students, irrelevant. Academics are strict, with an 85% attendance policy. Passing marks are 35 out of 100 for theory and 40 out of 100 for practicals.
Other: NIT Rourkela has significantly improved its CSE curriculum, incorporating industry-level training and internship opportunities. Starting CS fundamentals from the first semester would further benefit students. The college encourages leadership and collaboration through numerous student clubs under the Student Activity Centre. Regular fests, including technical, cultural, sports, and ethnic events, enhance the vibrant campus life.

Solid academics with dedicated faculty, and gives us better placement opportunities.
Placements: As you know, I'm a student at the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. In my college, there are many talented students who are very good at studies and are very friendly with each other. In my college, most students get placed in campus placements, and the percentage of students who get placed is about 90 to 95 percent. The remaining students start their own businesses or stop studying. Software companies offer more placements, and CSE and ECE students get placed more in my college.
Infrastructure: As I'm a student of the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, in my hostels, there is a good supply of Wi-Fi, and the canteens are always open. The mess food is very good, and medical facilities are available every single time. If we get an injury or fall sick, they will check and give us free medicine. If we are more serious, they shift us to the nearby hospital for our well-being and take care of us every time. In my college, the infrastructure and facilities are very good. My college is very good at infrastructure, labs, classrooms, etc. Yes, in my college, our faculty members are very helpful.
Faculty: Yes, in my college, our faculty members are very talented and very helpful to us. Our teachers are very helpful and are highly knowledgeable. Their teaching skills are excellent, and they work day and night for us. If we have any doubts, they will clarify them for us, and they are very helpful. And yes, they make students industry-ready. In my college, the semester exams are very tough, and through this, they assess our talent and performance in academics. Most students pass the exams, and the passing percentage is 40 percent, maybe.

Campus Life at NIT ROURKELA (INTEGRATED M.Sc. MATHEMATICS).
Placements: Around 50% student who applied were placed, but the opportunities for Int. M.Sc. student were very less, although Maths was better than all the other three branches. Also, if you have a very keen interest in coding then you can go for it. No coursework include or shall help you in the placement process. There are few companies who come for teaching Like Aakash, Fiit JEE Byjus etc. But ezcept FIITJEE and AAKASH there packages are too low.
Infrastructure: Overall infrastructure for college is very good, its a very beautiful campus you can never get bored of it. But again talkinh about Int. M.Sc. you will be very dissapointed whilst comparing to other B.Teach bramches. Hostels are great there are badminton courts and volleyball courts in all hostels. Food was also great in our time cant say for now. Hostels activities are very engaging intra hostel tournaments inter hostel tournaments and many more things.
Faculty: Faculty members are great, there are some teachers whom you might find not so engaging but on the other hand there are some professors who are more than willing to help, Curriculum is basically of pure Maths you won't get any taste of applied Maths so don't expect anything more from it.
Other: If you have a very keen interest in Maths then you xan go for it, else I won't suggest to go for int. M.Sc. math just for the sake of getting into NIT. Also the math that you will be taught here will be completely different from what you have learnt in 11th and 12th.
