Uttarakhand Open University offers admission to a two-year MSc course. This course is taught through the School of Science and School of Computer Science & Information Technology. As studying in the open university, candidates can complete the course within a span of maximum six years at UOU. Candidates can choose to study among nine MSc specialisations, namely Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Zoology, etc. The most popular and expensive MSc courses at the university are MSc in Information Technology and MSc in Cyber Security. The university has not released the official placement report for the year 2023. However, as per placement report 2021, a total of 38 Diploma in Hotel Administration students were placed during UOU placement 2021. Students were placed in top companies such as Grand Hyatt Kochi, The Leela Group of Hotels and among others during placement 2021.

The total fee for two-year MSc course ranges between INR 36,800 - INR 88,800. This fee contains the range for all MSc specialisations. The total fee may include various fee components such as Tuition Fee, Examination Fee, Degree Fee, Project Fee, Workshop Fee, etc. The most expensive MSc specialisations at UOU are Information Technology and Cyber Security.
