IIM Trichy has a highly competitive and rigorous admission process for all its programmes. The selection process typically involves an initial screening of candidates based on their CAT percentile scores, followed by a Personal Interview and Written Analysis Test.  Apart from CAT, the institute also accepts scores from other national and international level entrance exams such as GMAT, GRE, and GATE.

The candidate's academic records in their bachelor's degree, high school education, and any relevant certifications or diplomas are also considered. Work experience is particularly important for executive programmes as it helps the admission committee understand the candidate's exposure to the corporate world and their potential for growth in the programme. Overall, the admission process is highly selective, and only a small percentage of candidates are selected for admission to the various programs at IIM Trichy.

IIM Trichy admission to the management course is based on CAT scores, followed by WAT, GD & PI porcess. IIM Trichy accepts both qualifying CAT cutoff and final CAT cutoff for admission. However, the institute do not release CAT cutoffs in the public domain and are exclusively accessible only via account login to candidates who have appeared for the exam. Considering the previous year cutoff trends, the estimated CAT 2023 cut off percentiles for IIM Trichy will range between 94 and 95 for the General category students. 

On the basis of IIM admission criteria 2023, IIM Trichy qualifying CAT cutoff 2022 was 93 for the General category students. This year the estimated qualifying CAT cutoff is 93 for the General category students. For SC and ST category students, the estimated qualifying cutoffs are 54 and 40, respectively. 

IIM Tiruchirappalli offers postgraduate, Certificate and doctoral programmes and the courses include PGPM, PGPM-HR, DPM, EDPM, PGPBM (Chennai), and Ph.D. The duration of these courses range between two to five years. Each course has its eligibility criteria which needs to be fulfilled by the candidates. Candidates who want to apply for these courses can go to the official website of national-level entrance exams accepted by the institute. These entrance exams include CAT GATE etc.

The eligibility criteria is the minimum qualification required for an aspirant to become eligible for admission to a PGPM course at IIM Trichy. Candidates have to meet eligibility criteria for CAT entrance exam. Find below details on the eligibility criteria:

• Applicany must be Graduate with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC/ST candidates).
• Candidates, appearing for the final year of their UG degree waiting for results can also apply. However, if selected, admission of such candidates will be provisional depending on the submission of a pre-final certificate signed by competent authorities of the previous institute/university, the latest by June 30 of the year of admission.

IIM Trichy accepts minimum CAT percentile for shortlisting candidates for the Personal Interview round. For IIM Trichy MBA admission 2024, the estimated overall CAT cutoff for the General category students is 92 percentile.
