Faculty details

Dr. Richa Prakash
Dr. Richa Prakash is appointed as Assistant Professor in the Discipline of Home Science, Fabric and Apparel Sciences, School of Continuing Education, IGNOU, New Delhi, since September 2021. She is the Programme Coordinator of Certificate in Apparel Merchandising. Dr. Richa Prakash takes pleasure in the merit of doing her Ph.D. from Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University, Hyderabad, Masters (UGC-NET) from The M. S. University of Baroda and Bachelor’s from St. Mary’s College, Shillong. Dr. Prakash specializes in the area of Clothing & Textiles (Home Science) and garners rich experience in both industry as well as academics in the field of textiles. Before joining Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi, she has worked as an Assistant Professor at JDBI, Jadavpur University and GCU, Bangalore University along with other adhoc level positions. With more than 9 years of work experience, she has mentored students at Master’s and Doctorate level. With publications in both National and International journals, she has been credited with Gold Medal and was awarded Savitiri Pandit Award. At present she is one of the Channel Coordinators of Swayam Prabha, Channel 16 (Skill and Vocational Education) along with other responsibilities of the University.
