Best Maritime Campus and Well-Experienced Faculty Members.
Placements: When it comes to placements, about 70% of the students have been placed, and the others are still waiting for the companies to take the list. The placed students have a package of about 30,000 to 55,000 INR per month, which is from companies like Synergy, V Ships, M.Sc. Chevron, and other small companies with smaller salary packages like TCI, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and classrooms are good. There is a projector in each classroom, and when it comes to the labs, there are many instruments, devices, computers, etc. The library is fully air-conditioned with lots of books, for learning as well as for entertainment. The hostel rooms in our college and the food there are fine, with healthy food and a neat atmosphere.
Faculty: All the faculty members are well-educated and experienced captains. They teach us with their full potential, and we can understand them very clearly. By taking the DNS course, we study for 1 year and the other 18 months are for training. There is difficulty in each semester exam. The pass percentage for a semester is to obtain 50% marks for each subject, lab, and assignments.
Other: Events and activities are very good on the campus, and there are extra activities like Sports Day, Holi, and Christmas, which are well-celebrated on the campus.

I will never recommend this college to anybody.
Placements: Placements are good. Frequently visited by companies. Good companies come to take students. Approximately 100 percent placement. Frequent VIP visits are there at the college. Good companies. Famous companies. Big and famous companies. Good placement.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. Good facilities in classrooms. Smart boards are provided for teaching. Nice infrastructure. Good infrastructure. Nice facilities. Nice cabins are allotted to the students. Cabins are good and comfortable. Attached washrooms and bathrooms to the cabins.
Faculty: Good faculty. Good teachers. Teachers give all their efforts to teach students. Anytime, ready to clear doubts. Anytime, ready to answer any questions from students. Hardworking faculty and teachers. Bad wardens. Rating is less just because of wardens; otherwise, faculty is good.
Other: The worst campus life you can ever live. I would never recommend this college to anyone.

I am feeling proud to study in HIMT college, where the faculty members and batchmates are helpful.
Placements: As we are in the September batch of 2024, almost 50% of the cadets have been placed. Even if we pass out, they will call us when any company approaches the college. Top shipping companies like MAERSK, Zodiac, and Berge Bulk have come for recruitment so far. At the first sail, the role of ETO is trainee ETO.
Infrastructure: The ambiance of HIMT feels good and peaceful. Classrooms are provided with air conditioning facilities, and my college has a VR lab facility. Every week, there will be two periods for the library, and the books in the library are useful. Cadets from any state in India can have good food and feel good with the facilities of the hostel. Indoor and outdoor sports facilities are available, and we can play every evening.
Faculty: Yes, the teaching faculty members in HIMT College are very helpful, especially the ETO course faculty members. They are very friendly and have both knowledge and practical experience, so they help us score good marks. They provide us extra coaching for placements when the companies come for recruitment, and they take responsibility for every individual student to improve in both academics and communication.
Other: As of now, ETOs have good demand in the marine industry. I chose this valuable course and this valuable training institute. The demand for ETOs is even increasing because ME engines are coming into play in the future.

B.Tech. in Marine Engineering - Batch of 2021
Offered by Coimbatore Marine College
3.4
2Placements4Infrastructure4Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
Apart from placements everything was good at Coimbatore Marine college.
Placements: Coimbatore Marine College did not have very many placement opportunities for its students. Very few of the students in this batch get placed at this college. The average package offered at the college was between 3 and 6 LPA. Students were not getting proper placement support from the college. Internships were also not given to the students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure available at the Coimbatore Marine College for our course was good. College had a pretty big campus. All the necessary facilities were provided to the students by the management. The college has facilities such as a hostel, canteen, Wi-Fi, library, labs, sports, etc. for its students. The food in both the college canteen and mess was average.
Faculty: The faculty of the Coimbatore Marine College was good for our course. Teachers available in our course are experienced, and we'll be qualified at this college. They were using all their experience for the students development. The course curriculum was also relevant and made students industry-ready. Exams were not that hard to pass at this college for our course. Overall, the teaching quality was good enough at this college.

IMU Chennai
Admission FAQs

Q:   Can I get B.Tech at IMUC with a 75 percentile in JEE Mains?

A:

Yes, if you score in the 75 percentile in the JEE Mains, you may be able to go into IMUC. The particular B.Tech program, category, results on other tests, total rank, and academic record are some of the variables that affect admission possibilities. Even though a score in the 75 percentile is typically considered competitive, entrance to the most selective programs may not be assured with this score. Practicing for more entrance examinations, keeping up a stellar academic record, showcasing extracurricular activities, crafting a good personal statement, and staying current with admission requirements are all ways to improve your chances. You can improve your chances of being admitted to IMUC by being well-prepared and using strategic application.

Q:   What are the cutoff marks required for B.Tech?

A:

The minimum scores needed to enroll in Indian Maritime University's (IMU) B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology) programs vary based on the course and candidate type. But for the B.Tech programs at IMU, the general cutoff scores are as 80% for General Category, 75% for OBC (Other Backward Classes), 65% for SC (Scheduled Castes), 60% for ST (Scheduled Tribes), and 75% for EWS (Economically Weaker Sections). Every year, these cutoff points are subject to alter depending on the volume of applications and the degree of difficulty of the entrance exam. It is important that candidates should visit the official IMU website for the most recent cutoff scores.

Q:   Can I get admission in IMUC for B.Tech with 60% in Class 12th?

A:

IMUC admits B.Tech students with a class 12 GPA of 60%, hence the answer is yes. It is noteworthy, therefore, that the minimum scores required for admission to the B.Tech programs at IMUC differ based on the particular course and the candidate's level. The admission committee will take your performance on the IMUC CET entrance exam into account in addition to your Class 12th percentage. Paper 1 and Paper 2 are the two papers that make up the IMUC B.Tech admission exam. Paper 1 is meant to evaluate your understanding of mathematics, physics, and chemistry; Paper 2 is meant to evaluate your engineering and problem-solving skills. Understanding the material in its entirety, practicing answering previous year's question papers, and taking mock exams to assess your progress are all crucial components of an efficient preparation strategy for the IMUC B.Tech entrance exam. If you want to improve your preparation, you should also think about taking coaching to do well in the entrance exam.

Q:   Is it necessary to have a passport to apply for BTech in Marine Engineering?
