The duration of this course is 10 months, including four months on shore, followed by six months of onboard training. This course is approved by The Directorate General of Shipping, Govt. Of India and meets the requirements laid down in Table A-III/6 of STCW as amended in 2010. The total seat intake for this course is 40. To get admission to ETO course at TMI, candidates are required to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria in the first place. Admission to this course is entrance-based. Tolani Maritime Institute conducts Tolani Maritime Institute Science Aptitude Test (TMISAT) for admission to the ETO course. The final selection is done based on the performance of candidates in the PI round and the Medical Test conducted at the institute.

To get admission to MSc course at TMI, students need to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria as prescribed by the institute. Aspirants must graduate with minimum 60% aggregate in BTech Marine Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/ Nautical Technology/ Naval Architecture/ Mechanical Engineering/ Production Engineering. TMISAT councelling will be held offline at the TMI campus. For TMISAT Counselling you need clear all the tests before TMISAT entrance test starts and thereafter you can have the TMISAT. Then you should qualify the entrance test, after the test completed the merit list will be called for the councelling to the TMI campus for the tests like medical there will verified by the doctors of TMI only, there will be a personal interview and online test. After qualifying all the eligible tests you can have the admission into the TMI.
