Review of Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management.
Placements: IISWBM is one of the best B grade MBA college in India. Around 96% of students got placed last year in 2019. The highest salary package offered was 10 LPA. Mostly the marketing specialisation students get good jobs with hefty salary package, but for finance, HR and analytics, jobs are more related to their field of study. Top recruiters are ICICI, Yes Bank, KPMG, Delloite, Spencers, Kantar IMRB, HDFC Bank, etc. Around 50% of roles offered to students are related to sales profile. The salary packages offered ranges from 4.5 LPA to 10 LPA. Almost 100% of students get an internship from college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of IISWBM is average. It's sufficient if you compare it with the course fee. Boys hostel and girls hostel are hygienic and safe. There are strict anti-ragging policies. There is a student activity centre where you can play table tennis, hit the gym or chill out with a cup of coffee. The canteen is also average. Medical facilities are available in our college. The MBA department organises two major sports event in a year.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are the best. The course curriculum is also relevant to the industry. Some faculty members are real-life entrepreneurs, so they teach with practical examples from their life. Though the faculty can be improved and changes are taking place.

Save IISWBM from becoming a tier-3 institute.
Placements: The placements are satisfactory with the average salary being between 5-5.5 lakhs per annum. The placement cell is very bad, and only the students in the committee try to work for the others. The faculty members are least bothered and a lot needs to improved, starting from making the students skilled.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure wise it is very bad. As it is situated in central Kolkata, there is less scope for improvement. There is no playground for any kind of sports, no Wi-Fi for students and the computer lab is not up to the mark. The auditorium is a joke and the canteen is non-existent. There is no proper hostel facility.
Faculty: The course curriculum is very outdated. No new case studies are taught with no analytics courses. Rote learning is the way to get good marks in exams. The teachers treat their jobs like government jobs. No one is bothered to improve. They still think that as the college is the first MBA college in India they will get away with everything.

Dissatisfied with the placement cell.
Placements: The placements were ok. The placement officer was pathetic but overall companies were positive in their approach. The placement cell was partial but good companies visited the campus such as Philips, etc. The placement officers are highly partial with the opportunities that come.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is basically poor. There is no ground for playing and leisure purposes and Wi-Fi is too slow. The location is good but the building needs expansion and also needs to provide good hostel facilities. The boys' hostel is located far from the location of the college. The ambiance is okayish.
Faculty: The faculty was good. They had great knowledge about the subjects and were greatly helpful with effective teaching methods. The teachers were friendly and we had some sort of industry exposure practices. They also encouraged us to give classroom presentations and take regular exams.

Q:   Can I get into IISWBM Kolkata, MBA with 70% in CAT?

A:

Definitely, you can get into IISWBM Kolkata by securing 70% in CAT Examination because the last year cutoffs was around 50 percentile so by which we get to know that we can get admission without any hassle or problem . We should be careful while checking the last year cutoffs because they change every year by year and college by college and branch by branch and their perspectives branches also. We should not trust cutoffs blindly. Who knows the cutoffs this college might be increased or decreased. So we cannot do anything about the cutoffs. Be we can hard work and get as much score as it is possible because if we score more we get a free admission in any colleges without any worries.

There will be a case study and you will have to give your point of view. Nothing fancy but have some information about current affairs. Most of the time they pick a recent incident which affects the corporate business.
