What is ATMA Exam?

AIMS Test for Management Admissions or ATMA is a national-level exam conducted by the Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) for admission to MBA, PGDM, MMS, MCA and PGDBA courses. More than 750 management institutes across India accept ATMA scores for admission to their management programmes. The test aims to assess the aptitude of candidates, which is necessary for higher management studies. ATMA question paper comprises six sections. ATMA is conducted multiple times a year in the centre-based online test mode across various centres in the country. Questions in the exam are asked from Analytical Reasoning, Quantitative and Verbal Skills.

ATMA is a popular MBA entrance exam. The scores of the ATMA exam are accepted by some of the most prominent B-Schools in India. ATMA is conducted 4-5 times each year. Every year approximately 20,000 students sit for the exam, making it popularly accepted exam. Last year, the exam was conducted five times in February, May, June, July and August.

ATMA 2026 Application Form and Registration Process (May)

ATMA application form 2026 is released online on the ATMA AIMS website (https://www.atmaaims.org/). Candidates have to complete the ATMA registration before the last date. The ATMA 2026 application form last date is April 21, 2026, for May session. The ATMA registration process includes the following steps:

  • Registration

  • Fee Payment
  • Filling ATMA application form using PID number and password with details such as communication address, academic details, etc. 
  • Choosing exam centre 
  • Uploading the required documents in the prescribed format.

ATMA Fee Payment

Applicants have to pay the application fee to proceed to fill out the ATMA application form. The ATMA application fee can only be paid online. ATMA registration fee is INR 2,000 (inclusive of GST) for all candidates. ATMA application fee payment can only be done through debit/credit cards, internet banking or UPI. Applicants belonging to North-Eastern states are eligible to avail of a fee concession of 50%. Women candidates are also eligible to avail of the fee concession of 25%.

ATMA Eligibility Criteria 2026

Check out the ATMA eligibility criteria 2026 below:

  • Students applying for the ATMA exam should be a citizen of India.
  • Any graduate with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate or equivalent CGPA, from a recognised university, is eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who are in their final year of graduation can apply provisionally.
  • There is no age limit.

ATMA Eligibility Criteria 2026: MCA Course

The following is the ATMA eligibility criteria for the MCA programme:

  • Candidates must have secured a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate in BCA.
  • The minimum age limit to appear for the exam is 21 years. There is no upper age limit.
  • Only citizens of India are eligible to apply for the ATMA exam.
  • Candidates in the final year of BCA can also apply.

ATMA Exam Pattern 2026

ATMA exam is an online one. It has 180 questions in the MCQ format. The sections include Verbal Ability, Analytical Ability and Quantitative Aptitude. The total marks is 180 and students will be marked negatively for each incorrect answer. A penalty of -0.25 marks will be put for incorrect answers. Students can register online on the website of AIMS and fill the ATMA application form. The application fee is INR 1,600 which is to be paid online through debit/credit card or net banking. While filling up the ATMA application form, candidates can select up to five institutes or colleges to send their scores for admission.

ATMA exam is held in the CBT test mode across 102 cities in India. Candidates need to select ATMA 2026 exam centres or test cities while filling the application form. 

ATMA admit card 2026

ATMA admit cards will be released for the registered candidates three days before the exam. Candidates must download their admit cards and self-declaration forms and take a printout of the same before the exam, as these are mandatory documents. ATMA admit cards 2026 will be available online for downloading, till the exam day. 

ATMA mock test 2026

ATMA mock test 2026 will be conducted two days ahead of the exam day, to familiarize the candidates with the test guidelines if the exam is conducted in the internet-based test mode. It was mandatory for the applicants to appear for the mock test which will be conducted between 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM for 45 minutes. If the applicant does not appear for the mock test, he/she will not be permitted to appear for the actual exam. The mock test will be conducted to avoid any hassle during the exam day. 

ATMA exam 2026

ATMA exam will be conducted in the centre-based online test mode. The test will comprise 180 questions on Analytical Reasoning, Quantitative, and Verbal skills. Candidates get 180 minutes to solve the questions. 

ATMA result 2026

ATMA results will be declared online on the ATMA AIMS website. The test takers can check the ATMA result 2026 and download the scorecard by entering their PID number and password. The scorecards will not be sent to any student by post. Based on marks scored, they can apply to the institute/college of their choice and participate in the further admission process of the participating college.

ATMA 2026 Exam Day Guidelines

Candidates appearing for the ATMA exam must familiarise themselves with ATMA exam day guidelines to avoid any difficulty on the day of the exam.

  • ATMA exam will be held in the afternoon sessions, i.e. from 2 PM to 5 PM. Students have to reach the exam centre latest by 1 PM to complete friskling formalities. 
  • Candidates have to carry two coloured prints of ATMA admit card with a passport sized photograph affixed to each. Along with the admit card they need to carry a photo ID proof, original and photocopy, issued by the Government of India. 
  • Candidates need to carry a coloured print out of ATMA application form with a photograph affixed to it which matches the application form. 
  • They also have to carry the Self-declaration form. 
  • Candidates must bring a ballpoint pen to the centre. Other gadgets such as digital watches, statistical tables, calculators, etc. are not permitted in the exam centre.
  • The candidate must wear a mask and gloves at all times. They must also carry a transparent water bottle, sanitiser and exam-related documents.

Q:   How to crack ATMA in first attempt?

To crack ATMA in first attempt, students should have a good preparation plan. Along with that, students should know ATMA exam pattern, have strong basics and concepts. Practice using sample papers and mock tests will help students fetch a good score.

Q:   What is the list of documents which will be required to check the ATMA scorecard?
A: 

Candidates who appeared for ATMA exam, will be able to check their ATMA scores online. To check and download ATMA scorecard, they will be required to login in candidate portal on ATMA AIMS website by using their Personal Identification Number (PID) and Date of Birth. 

Q:   Can I pay the ATMA registration fee by cash/DD or net banking?
A: 
ATMA registration fee can be paid only online. There is no provision of paying the application fee offline. Candidates need to pay the application fee online first in order to proceed to filling the ATMA application form and uploading the required documents. The candidates applying for the ATMA exam must note that the ATMA application process is completely online from filling the ATMA application form till paying the application fee. There is no offline communication. The application fee for ATMA is INR 2000. The application fee is inclusive of 18 percent GST. The application fee for ATMA can only be paid online using a credit card, debit card, internet banking or UPI. Students belonging to the North Eastern states of India such as Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura are eligible to avail 50% concession on the application fee and women candidates too get a 25% concession on the ATMA application fee

Q:   Which errors should I check in the ATMA admit card? How to rectify these errors.

Students should check for the following errors in the ATMA admit card before downloading

  • Name of the student should be spelt correctly.
  • The registration or roll number of the student must be correct and clearly indicated along with the PID number.

Q:   How can I choose my preferred ATMA exam city?
A: 
There are over a 100 ATMA test centres across the country. These cities consist of metropolitan cities, capital cities, Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. Candidate can select up to three cities for allotment of test centre. The process of test city selection is a part of ATMA application process. In the ATMA application form, there is a field in which candidates have to select the cities. They need to select the city of preference in order of 1 to 3. The examination authorities will try to allot the test centre in the city of first preference. Thus, candidates must fill all the three cities carefully. They must choose their home city or city of current residence as the first preference. Once the application form has been submitted, the request for change of the city will not be accepted by the exam authorities.
