1st B School of India IISWBM and one of its kind & unique RETAIL Management Department.

Placements: Since it's inception in 2006 RETAIL MANAGEMENT Department has placed students successfully and making their mark in the Companies like Ikea, Walmart, Future Group, ABFRL, Reliance Retail, Shoppers Stop, Raymond's, ITC, Landmark Group, Best Seller, Puma and many other establishments in India and Abroad. Compulsory curriculum INTERNSHIP are in the course.

Infrastructure: Lecture Rooms, classrooms, Auditorium, Seminar Rooms, Library with digital solutions, Computer Lab, Terrace view, Student Activity Centre, Gym with Trainer, Canteen, Hostels including Boys and Girls, Games and Sports. Doctor is available for 2 days in the institute. Mess in the Canteen, food quality depends on the incharge of the mess. Audio Visual Classes, Heritage Building.

Faculty: The two pillars of the department is Archana Madam and Gairik Sir. The department started way back 2006 to cater the vast expanded Retail space and the need of the trained workforce in the Industry. One of its kind curriculum which provides dual compulsory Industrial exposure for the students which adds up the theoretical knowledge into real time application of those models.

Other: Retailer's Employees Day December 12th is celebrated every year. Academic Member of Retailer's Association of India (RAI).

Placements: To be very honest, the ROI ratio is on the higher side if you want to pursue a course in retail management from IISWBM. It is one of the most esteemed B-schools in India, and the retail management course offers you a healthy package in a reputed company. 100% students got their internship in the companies, like Puma, Pantaloons, Max, Balmer Lawrie, Titan, Future Group and many more. And, if you say about the final placements, we had the offer from Decathlon, Puma, Future Group, Pantaloons, Tanishq, Airtel and many more. The highest package was around 5 LPA, and the average package was around 2.5 LPA. During internships too, some companies offer a legit stipend.

Infrastructure: As it is one of the best B-schools in the country, you will get all the modern facilities like the library with digital assistance, Wi-Fi campus, medical assistance from doctors, sports utility rooms, gym, and well-maintained professional classrooms and auditoriums.

Faculty: Definitely, you will get the best professors from all over the country, and sometimes, from abroad who will guide you to polish yourself and help you to reach your ultimate goal. Top B-School in eastern India with good placements.

Placements: The placements you will have here are awesome. I got placed in puma Sports India Pvt Ltd as a management trainee of the 2012-14 batch. Apart from that, there are various reputed companies who do visit to this campus. It is a really good college with a wide array of good faculties. The average salary is 25,000 per month if you have been campus placed.

Infrastructure: It has an excellent infrastructure with a Wi-Fi enabled campus. There is a big computer lab, a canteen with good food and enough space to chill out there. The classrooms have projectors equipped within them. Hostels are available and the building of hostel is very big with ample facilities. The library is really very big and all MBA-related books and important articles are available in the campus.

Faculty: The faculty members are really very helpful across all courses and qualified too. Because of their guidance, I got the exposure of the retail industry and got campus placement. The teaching methods used here are very helpful and modern too. Even the alumni students do come and take extra classes which help students to have real-time learning and industry exposure.

Other: Above all, I can rate this college as one of the best b-school in not only retail but all courses in management because of faculty members, type of teaching methods, amenities given in college and campus placements. The companies which do come in this college will surely help you boost your career.

Other: One of the best Institute in India and it can say Next to IIM, XLRI. All faculty are very good and take care of all students equally. Other: IISWBM was constituted on 25th April,1953 by a resolution passed by the Senate of the University of Calcutta. This was the culmination of the joint initiative taken by the University of Calcutta, the Government of West Bengal, the Government of India and the captains of industry in India to set up for the first time a management education institute in India, a concept alien to many in the educational fraternity at that time. The Institute has successfully reached its Diamond Jubilee Year, signifying 60 years of eventful journey in management education in India since that day. IISWBM, the first management institute of India was thus established by Dr. B.C. Roy, the then Chief Minister of West Bengal as its Founder-President and Prof. D.K. Sanyal as the first Director. The Government of India, Department of Posts in recognition of 50 years of glorious existence of the first B-school in the country, released a Commemorative Postage Stamp on IISWBM, on 25th April 2004 in New Delhi. Apart from its flagship programs MBA, MHRM, MPSM, PGDBM, the Institute also conducts full-time programs in Sports Management,Telecom Management and Retail Management. Most of these programs are affiliated with the University of Calcutta. IISWBM is known for introducing and successfully conducting socially relevant and innovative management programs.
