The degrees/diplomas/certificates offered by BAOU Ahmedabad are treated at par with other UGC-approved universities' degrees/diplomas/certificates. Hence, the degrees issued by BAOU are valid and accepted by companies and other institutes. Additionally, the university is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). It is also recognised by the Distance Education Council (DEC).

BAOU offers Certificate courses across 27 specialisations. These courses are taught through two departments, i.e., the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and the School of Computer Science at the university. Some of the certificate courses offered are in Naturopathy, Indian Poetics, Theatre Arts, Food and Nutrition, Anganwadi Karyakrta, Childcare and Development, etc.

Admission to all programmes at BAOU Ahmedabad is based on merit in the last qualifying exam. However, aspirants seeking admission to a particular programme need to fulfil the educational eligibility criteria. As per the next step, students need to fill out an online application form by visiting the official website of BAOU. The seat allotment is further done based on the admission criteria, seat intake, and verification.

Candidates seeking admission at any of the certificate programmes shall have passed at least Class 8 to Class 12. The eligibility requirements can vary from one specialisation to another. Moreover, the applicant shall be of at least 18 years of age to be eligible for admission in a certificate course. BAOU admission 2024 is currently open for July session. Candidates wishing to get admission in the university can apply for the preferred course on the university website.
