Government Polytechnic Pune- probably the best Diploma college in Maharashtra.
Placements: Probably the best institute in Maharashtra for placement assistance. 50 + companies comes here with a minimum package of 2.4 lacs. I was placed in Bluestar with a package of 4 lacs. For Electrical engineering, TATA, Bluestar, L&T constructions, Bajaj auto, Adani power, Tata power are the big mncs which came every year.
Infrastructure: Best in class laboratories for every branches as the machineries and instruments used in the lab are very precise and have high quality. Cons are- no Wi-Fi available in the whole college. As the hostel was built in 1960, the structure is very old. Mess is run by government so quality is average however cost is very cheaper.
Faculty: Best in class faculty. All the professors are highly qualified and has the experience of more than a decade. Every course in Government Polytechnic Pune is designed in such a way that after successful completion of 3 years Diploma, each and every student passed out is industry ready as professors promotes inplant training, there are various soft skill development programs are taken.

A polytechnic diploma gets you to the second year of B.Tech or BE. That is called Lateral Entry and there is a separate selection process for this in colleges and universities. Please consult the college.
