Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   How do I get admission in BHU Law faculty?

A:

Faculty of Law, Banaras Hindu University offers admission to candidates in UG courses based on their CUET-UG score. For PG programmes, aspirants need a valid score in CUET-PG. The selection for PG Diploma course is based on the merit of the candidates in the last qualifying exam. Once the entrance exam results are out, candidates need to register for BHU counselling and provide their course preference. Aspirants are allotted seat based on their CUET rank.

Q:   What entrance exam scores does Faculty of Law, Banaras Hindu University accept for admission to BA LLB?

A:

As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, Banaras Hindu University's Faculty of Law for B.A. LL.B admission typically conducts its own entrance examination known as the BHU Undergraduate Entrance Test (UET). The UET is the primary admission criteria for various undergraduate programs, including B.A. LL.B, offered by the university.

While the UET is the standard entrance test, Banaras Hindu University may consider Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) scores as part of the admission process. However, the weightage given to HSC scores and other eligibility criteria can vary, and it's essential for prospective students to check the specific admission guidelines provided by the Faculty of Law for the academic year in question.

Candidates aspiring to pursue B.A. LL.B at Banaras Hindu University should regularly visit the official university website or contact the admission office for the most accurate and updated information regarding the admission process, including the acceptance of HSC scores. The university's admission policies may undergo changes, and direct communication with the university authorities is the most reliable way to obtain current and precise details about the admission requirements for B.A. LL.B.

In summary, while the BHU UET is the primary entrance examination, the acceptance and consideration of HSC scores may be part of the holistic admission criteria. It is advisable for candidates to refer to the latest official notifications or contact the university for the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding the admission process for B.A. LL.B at Banaras Hindu University.

Q:   What is the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.A. LL.B. programs at Faculty of Law?

A:

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.A. LL.B. Programs at Faculty of Law

Based on the statements provided by students and alumni, here's a summary of the effectiveness of the placement cell:

* Limited Success: According to some students, the placement cell doesn't have a great track record, and many students struggle to find jobs after graduation. (Source: "Our college provides less placements as it doesn't hold a great placement record.")
* Few Job Offers: Although some students received job offers, the number is limited. One student mentioned that Tata AIG came to the university to offer PPOs to 5th-year students, but the average package was around 67 LPA. (Source: "Tata AIG has been coming to the university to offer PPOs to 5th-year students, and the average package they offered was around 67 LPA.")
* Higher Package Offered: However, some students did receive higher packages, with the highest being 12 LPA, and the lowest being 7 LPA. (Source: "In our college, almost 90% of the students got placed in our course. The highest salary package offered is 12 LPA, and the lowest is 7 LPA.")

Overall, while the placement cell seems to make efforts to place students, its success rate appears to be limited, and many students may face challenges finding suitable employment after graduation.

A:

Faculty of Law - Good for B.A. LL.B.?

Based on the reviews and testimonials provided, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

Pros:

* Excellent Infrastructure: The faculty has improved infrastructure, with modern classrooms, state-of-the-art libraries, and well-maintained hostels.
* Good Placements: Although not exceptional, the college does manage to place around 80% of its students, with the highest package being around 12 LPA.
* High-Quality Teachers: Reviewers praise the teaching quality and expertise of the faculty members, many of whom have decades of experience.
* Relevant Curriculum: The course curriculum is relevant and industry-ready, preparing students for careers in law and beyond.
* Good Campus Life: The college has a large campus, offering amenities such as sports facilities, cultural events, and festivals.

Cons:

* Limited Internship Opportunities: While the college does offer internships, many reviewers feel that these are limited and often require additional effort to secure.
* Placement Committee: The placement committee may not function optimally, leaving students to rely on self-effort to secure job opportunities.
* Food Quality: Reviews suggest that the food quality could be improved, although some mention that it's "average" and "better than most PGs".
* Lack of Practice Aspect: Some reviewers feel that the college places too much emphasis on theoretical learning, neglecting practical skills and internships.

Overall, while the Faculty of Law has its strengths, particularly in terms of infrastructure and teacher quality, it falls short in providing excellent internship and placement opportunities. Nevertheless, the college remains a viable option for those interested in pursuing a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws (B.A. LL.B.) program.
