A stipend to basically GATE candidates is given by the central government. Candidates getting admission at Jadavpur University can also receive stipend from the government of West Bengal and the university fund. To be eligible to pursue MTech at Jadavpur University, a candidate must have passed BTech or equivalent graduation degree in relevant stream from a recognised institute/university with a minimum of 45% aggregate. For SC/ST candidates, the minimum aggregate required is 40%. Hence, a candidate scoring less than 50% but more than 45% (40% for SC/ST candidates) in bachelor's degree is eligible to apply for MTech admission at Jadavpur University.
