The opening and closing ranks for admissions into the various B.Tech courses offered by the participating institutes of the state constitute the WBJEE cutoff. After the examination is conducted, the authorities will prepare the WBJEE cutoff based on the candidate's performance and other related factors. However, it is to be noted that meeting the WBJEE cutoff does not guarantee admissions and only raises the chances of the candidates. WBJEE 2024 cutoff has been prepared and released online.

Q:   What is the exam pattern of the WBJEE?

A: 

WBJEE exam pattern outlines the details regarding how the entrance examination will be conducted by the authorities. WBJEE will be held as a pen-and-paper-based test. The total duration of the examination is 4 hours - 2 hours for Paper 1 (Mathematics) and 2 hours for Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry). The candidates will have to answer a total of 155 multiple-choice questions. In the paper, the questions are divided into three categories. Category I and II questions will have only one correct option while Category III questions will have one or more correct options. For every wrong answer in Category I and II, 1/4 mark will be deducted. There is no negative marking for Category III questions.
