ICSI switches over to online registrations, scraps offline process

Going with the contemporary tech trend, the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, is making a complete switch over to Online Registration System for its Foundation, Executive and Professional Programmes.

The intention behind the initiative is to endow students with the best of efficient services anytime and anywhere!

Points to remember:

1. The sale of offline registration forms will be discontinued from Jan 1, 2014. Since, the registration form was a part of the prospectus; the same would be redesigned and be sold to the prospective students and public.
2. The revised amount for the new prospectus (without the registration form) will be Rs 200.
3. From Jan 1, 2014, the application forms will not be accepted by Regional Councils & Chapters. The downloaded copies too of the same will not be accepted.
4. In case of all registrations, the study material would be sent by the main stores in Noida directly to students shortly after the registration application is approved by the Directorate of Student Services.
5. Aspirants can pay the application fees through Credit Card/Debit Card/Net banking or Bank Challan System (through Canara Bank Branches).
6. Furthermore, aspirants are not supposed to submit hard copies of supporting documents. They are advised to upload scanned copies of documents in support of their qualification through online mode failing which the registration applications will not be processed.

ICSI had moved to online enrollment for examination from October 1, 2013, while it decided to move to online registration from January 1, 2014.

According to a recent update by the institute for the students of its Company Secretary-ship course, the Companies Act, 2013 will not be applicable to December, 2013 and June, 2014 examinations of the Foundation, Executive and Professional Programmes; further implying that December 2013 and June 2014 examination will carry questions, wherever applicable, from the Companies Act, 1956 and not from the Companies Act, 2013.
