The Staff Selection Commission has released the SSC CGL admit card for the re-scheduled exam. The Commission released the exam centre and the shift details for the candidates appearing in the rescheduled exam on October 14, 2025. The candidates should note that SSC CGL admit card for the rescheduled exam can be downloaded after login with the SSC OTR.

The Commission will release the SSC CGL answer key on October 15 on its website – ssc.gov.in. The Commission will ask the candidates to send objections against the incorrect answers mentioned in the official answer key. The Commission will release the question papers of the candidates with the official answers under the candidate's login. The SSC CGL 2025 was conducted as CBE at the designated exam centres.

The SSC CGL 2025 exam is being conducted for 14,582 vacancies. The candidates who faced the technical snags during their examination will be appearing in the rescheduled exam. The Income Tax Inspector post is classified as the Group B post.

What is SSC CGL?

Staff Selection Commission conducts the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exam nationwide every year to recruit candidates for the posts Group B (Gazetted & Non-Gazetted) and Group C. The Commission follows the mandate of the Ministry of Personnel to conduct the exam and recruit candidates for the Central Government Ministries and offices across the nation. It is the premier exam of the Staff Selection Commission because of the posts included in the exam. It is the most sought exam because of the posts included in the exam.

Every year, approximately 30 lakh candidates fill out the SSC CGL application form, and around 15-18 lakh aspirants appear for the exam. There are only two tiers in the SSC CGL exam. Both tiers of the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exam are conducted online.

The Staff Selection Commission will release the group-wise result on its official website. The Commission will also mention the cutoff for each category and post group in the result PDF. The Commission will mention the name, roll number, category and marks of the selected candidates. The Commission will release the roll number, name, category and marks of the candidate. The Commission recently changed the normalisation methodology for the SSC CGL exam. 

SSC CGL Tie Resolution

The Commission can change the SSC CGL Tie Resolution formula/steps with a simple notice. The candidates should note that the Commission will release the SSC CGL Tie-Resolution formula in the official notification as well in the result pdf. SSC CGL Recruitment & Selection Process 2025

The Combined Graduate Level recruitment process takes over one year to complete. The candidates are required to apply online for the exam, appear and clear both the Tiers of the exam. The SSC CGL recruitment ends with the declaration of the final result and answer key. After the result, the Commission will also release the scorecard of the selected candidates. The Commission recommend the names of the finally selected candidates to the Ministry of Personnel which then assigns the candidate to the ministries and departments. 

SSC CGL Selection Process

The Staff Selection Commission conduct the Combined Graduate Level(CGL) every year to recruit candidates for the Central Ministries and Departments. The SSC CGL selection process starts with the release of the official notification and application. The selection process ends with the declaration of the result. The candidates should note that the SSC CGL examination process was changed in 2022, and the Commission reduced the number of Tiers in the exam process. The candidates need to clear one tier to appear in the next tier. All the results are declared in a Tier-wise manner.

SSC CGL selection process includes the following stages/tiers:

  • Application process: Candidates need to fill out the application form online on the official website of the commission in a specified manner. The application fee is INR 100.
  • Tier 1 application status - The regional websites of SSC release the application status of the candidates, mentioning the acceptance or rejection of the application. It will also inform about the exam date of the candidate.
  • Tier 1 admit cards: SSC regional websites release the admit cards for the CGL Tier-I exam four days before the exam day. The candidates need to download their admit cards from these regional SSC websites in a specified manner.
  • Tier 1 exam: Tier I is a Computer-Based Exam (CBE) that contains objective-type Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) of 200 marks. 
  • Tier 1 Answer Key - SSC releases the tentative answer within ten days of the completion of the exam. The Commission asks the candidates to raise objections against the incorrect questions/answers given in the official answer key.
  • Tier 1 result: The result is declared by SSC on its official website within 45 days of the exam. 
  • Tier 2 admit card: Eligible candidates need to download their admit cards for the Tier-II exam from the official regional websites. The admit card is released about one week before the exam. 
  • Tier 2 exam: Tier II is again a CBE that is divided into three papers.
  • SSC CGL result: Final result is announced based on candidates' performance in tier-I and tier-II exams. All qualifying candidates are then allotted Group B and C posts in various ministries/departments/organisations of the Government of India.

Nationality Requirement for SSC CGL Exam

To Join the Indian Bureaucracy, the candidates must belong to India. As per the official notification, A candidate must be a citizen of India, a person of Indian origin, a subject of Nepal/Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee.

SSC CGL Age Limit

Age Criteria is an important aspect of the SSC CGL exam. The candidates must confirm to the age criteria lad down by the Staff Selection Commission. The candidates should note that the Commission mention different SSC CGL age limit for different posts. The three major age criteria as defined in the official notification

Age Limit 1 - 18 to 27 years

Candidate born earlier than 02-08-1998 and later than 01-08-2007 are not eligible

Age Limit 2 - 20 to 30 years

Candidate born earlier than 02-08-1995 and later than 01-08-2005 are not eligible

Age Limit 3 - 18 to 30 years

Candidate born earlier than 02-08-1995 and later than 01-08-2007 are not eligible

The age will be counted on August 1 of the exam year.
