RIE CEE Eligibility Criteria 2026
The candidates are required to fulfil some conditions before they register for the RIE CEE. Get familiar with the section to understand the enrollment process.

Candidates must have passed Class 12 (Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary) or an equivalent examination from a recognised board or university with at least 50% aggregate marks. A relaxation of 5% in the minimum qualifying marks is available to candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories. The qualifying examination must be recognised by the respective affiliating universities of the Regional Institutes of Education (RIEs). Candidates who passed the qualifying examination in 2024 or 2025, as well as those appearing in 2026, are eligible to apply. |

Candidates must have passed the +2, Higher Secondary, Senior Secondary, or an equivalent examination in the Science, Commerce, or Arts stream with at least 50% aggregate marks. A relaxation of 5% in the minimum qualifying marks is provided to candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories. Only candidates who passed the qualifying examination in 2024 or 2025, or those appearing in 2026, are eligible to apply. |

Candidates seeking admission to the M.Sc.Ed. (Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics) programme must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) at the Class 12 level. In this context, Mathematics may be replaced by Statistics where applicable. Applicants must have passed the +2/Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary examination or an equivalent qualification recognised by a board or university with at least 50% aggregate marks. A relaxation of 5% in the minimum qualifying marks is available to candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories. The qualifying examination must be recognised by University of Mysore, the affiliating university of Regional Institute of Education Mysore. Only candidates who passed their Class 12 or equivalent examination in 2024 or 2025, or those appearing in 2026, are eligible to apply for the programme.

The RIE CEE Exam for the 2026 session is expected to be conducted in July. Candidates must fill out the RIE CEE 2026 Application Form (to be released in April) before the last date if they wish to appear for the exam.
