Overview

RIE CEE 2026 registration has closed. The application form is available on the official RIE CEE website. The deadline for RIE CEE application form 2026 was June 5, 2026. The RIE CEE entrance exam will be held on July 3, 2026. NCERT conducts the RIE CEE 2026 for admission to Regional Institutes of Education across India. The exam is conducted for three groups. Group A includes BSc BEd, BA BEd, and MSc BEd courses. Group B includes BEd, BEd-MEd, and MA Education Technology. Group C includes the MEd programme. All updates regarding the application form, answer key, and results will be provided on this page.

RIE CEE Eligibility Criteria 2026

The candidates are required to fulfil some conditions before they register for the RIE CEE. Get familiar with the section to understand the enrollment process.

Course

Eligibility

BSc BEd

  • For Physical Science Group admission, you must have passed with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, where M could be Mathematics or Statistics
  • Biological Science Group admission, must have cleared with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, where B could be Biology or Biotechnology; at +2 level.

Candidates must have passed Class 12 (Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary) or an equivalent examination from a recognised board or university with at least 50% aggregate marks. A relaxation of 5% in the minimum qualifying marks is available to candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories. The qualifying examination must be recognised by the respective affiliating universities of the Regional Institutes of Education (RIEs).

Candidates who passed the qualifying examination in 2024 or 2025, as well as those appearing in 2026, are eligible to apply.

BA BEd

Candidates must have passed the +2, Higher Secondary, Senior Secondary, or an equivalent examination in the Science, Commerce, or Arts stream with at least 50% aggregate marks. A relaxation of 5% in the minimum qualifying marks is provided to candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories. Only candidates who passed the qualifying examination in 2024 or 2025, or those appearing in 2026, are eligible to apply.

MSc Ed

 

Candidates seeking admission to the M.Sc.Ed. (Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics) programme must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) at the Class 12 level. In this context, Mathematics may be replaced by Statistics where applicable.

Applicants must have passed the +2/Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary examination or an equivalent qualification recognised by a board or university with at least 50% aggregate marks. A relaxation of 5% in the minimum qualifying marks is available to candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories. The qualifying examination must be recognised by University of Mysore, the affiliating university of Regional Institute of Education Mysore.

Only candidates who passed their Class 12 or equivalent examination in 2024 or 2025, or those appearing in 2026, are eligible to apply for the programme.

 

Integrated BEd MEd (3 Year)

A postgraduate degree in Science / Social Science / Humanities from a recognized Institute with a minimum 55 % marks or equivalent grade (relaxation by 5% for SC/ST/PwD Candidates).

MEd (2 Year)

Candidates seeking admission to the M.Ed. programme must have obtained at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade in any of the following qualifying programmes. A relaxation of 5% in the minimum qualifying marks is provided to candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories.
(i) BEd

(ii) BA BEd

(iii) BSc BEd

(iii) BElEd

(iv) DElEd with a bachelor's degree (With 50% marks in each)

MA (Education Technology)

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade. A relaxation of 5% in the minimum qualifying marks is provided to candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories.

What is RIE CEE?

National Council of Educational Research and Training conducts this common entrance exam for candidates who wish to take admission in teacher education courses. The RIE CEE Exam for the 2026 session is expected to be conducted in July. Candidates must fill out the RIE CEE 2026 Application Form (to be released in April) before the last date if they wish to appear for the exam. RIE CEE exam will be conducted for 2 hours and will check the candidate's proficiency in Teaching Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, and Language. The total marks will be 160.

The RIE CEE exam is conducted separately in

  • Group A (BA BEd/BSc BEd./MScEd)

NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training) releases the provisional answer key a few days after the RIE CEE exam. All students who took the Computer-Based Test can check it and raise objections if they find any mistakes. You can download the RIE CEE Answer Key by logging in with your details. RIE CEE 2026 Result

The National Council of Educational Research and Training will release the RIE CEE Result 2026 online on its official result portal. Candidates can view and download their results by logging in with their registered credentials. A direct link to check the result will also be available on this page.

To check the RIE CEE Result 2026:

  • Visit the official exam website or open the direct result link in your browser.
  • Enter your Application ID and Password.
  • Type the verification code displayed on the screen.
  • Click on the ‘Login’ button.
  • The RIE CEE Result will appear on your screen, review and download it for future reference.

The RIE CEE 2026 result is expected to be announced in August 2026 for Group A candidates and in September 2026 for Groups B and C after the completion of the July examination. Candidates will be able to access their scorecards and merit lists by logging into the NCERT admission portal using their Application ID and Date of Birth.

RIE CEE 2026 Counselling and Reservation Policy

RIE CEE counselling is conducted within a week or two after the result declaration. RIE CEE 2026 counselling help students get a seat in right course after exam. You need to join counselling if you pass the RIE CEE 2026 test. First, check RIE CEE 2026 result on official website. If name come in merit list, then you can go for counselling process. Documents Required for the RIE CEE Counselling

Listed below are the important documents. 

  • Printout of the Application form and Score card/ result sheet of CEE 2026
  • Original Marks cards of Class X and XII classes
  • Domicile Certificate / Residential Certificate C
  • Caste Certificate issued by the Competent Authority from the Domicile State (in case of SC/ST students).
  • ОВС Сertificate (Non-Creamy layer) Current Financial Year in the Government of India Format (if applicable)
  • EWS Certificate (Current Financial Year) in Government of India Format (if applicable)

RIE CEE Exam Reservation Policy

As per the Government of India rules, candidates belonging to certain categories are admitted to seats reserved for them based on relaxed criteria. The following reservations are available:

  • SC 15%
  • ST 7.5%
  • OBC 27%
  • PwD 5%
  • EWS 10%.

Candidates applying under the reservation quota will be considered only based on the lists notified by the Government of India and the category certificate/ PwD certificate in the format approved by the Government of India and issued by the competent authority. OBC candidates will have to attach a certificate from a competent authority stating that he/she does not belong to the Creamy Layer.

  • The reservation for EWS will be as per the Government of India norms.
  • For the reservation of Hyderabad-Karnataka under the Karnataka reservation quota, data will be captured and provided to RIE, Mysuru for processing at their end.
  • RIEs will provide one seat for each course BSc BEd, and BA BEd. (RIE, Mysuru will also provide one seat for each programme of MScEd. i.e., Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) And RIE, Bhopal will also provide one seat in BEd-MEd. over and above of their regular quota for NTSE awardees and Tibetan candidates. However, candidates from this category need to appear in the CEE 2026.

Only the students from the states/UTs of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Chandigarh are eligible.

RIE, Bhubaneswar: BA BEd, BSc BEd (PCM and CBZ Group), BEd and MEd

Candidates are only eligible from the states and union territories of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Daman & Diu, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli. For the BEd-MEd program, eligibility extends to candidates from all states and union territories.

RIE, Mysuru: BA BEd, BSc BEd (PCM and CBZ Group), MScEd. (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics), BEd, and MEd

  • Only from the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and the UTs of Puducherry and Lakshadweep are eligible.
  • For MScEd. (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) from all States and UTs can apply.

NERIE, Shillong: BEd

For the BEd programme at NERIE, Shillong, only the candidates from the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura are eligible.

RIE, Nellore: MA(Education Technology)

For the MA (Education Technology) programme, the candidates from all states and UTs are eligible.

SIASTE, Haryana: BA BEd and BSc BEd

For BA BEd, BSc BEd programmes, the candidates from all states and UTs can apply.
