Q:   Is NATA more difficult than JEE (MAIN Paper 2) for BArch?
A:

Personally, I don't think they can be compared. Both have different aspects. JEE BARCH It includes engineering level maths. You'd prepare for it the same way you'd do for paper 1 maths. The aptitude section is very easy. Gk and logic questions are easy to crack. The drawing section isn't very demanding and is just a basic approach. It is 3 hours paper. ( maths and aptitude. +Drawing paper) NATA It includes general maths. The one you studied in 9th-10th std. Hardly 2-3 questions are expected. (Included in the online test among the 40 questions) It has a drawing paper which requires you to analyse views (like bird's eye view, ant's eye view etc) ,It is tougher than JEE drawing paper. Next is an online test which consists of 40 questions related to architectural awareness, analytical problems, aesthetic sensitivity and visualization. The questions asked here are tougher than JEE aptitude section. You get 3 hours. 50 mins for online test and rest for drawing test. So JEE has tough maths. And NATA has tough online test. Drawing can be handled pretty well in both the exams, if you get the concept thoroughly. Hope this information helps. Please feel free to revert. Click on the thumbs up or mark it as the best, if you found this useful. Wish You Luck!

Q:   What is the use of NATA exam?
A:

NATA stands for National Aptitude Test in Architecture is a national-level entrance exam that is held by the Council of Architecture (COA). With this exam, you can get admission to the BArch course in various cities of India.

To crack this exam, you must practice to develop aptitude as this exam is quite challenging. To be successful, make sure that you refer to past papers and answer sheets. This is going to be your sailor in the process.

Q:   What is the criteria for NATA exam?
A:

Candidates who have completed their 10 + 2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or 10+ 3 Diploma with Mathematics as subject of study can appear for NATA 2025. Candidates appearing for 10+2 examination with Physics,
Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects of study or 10+3 Diploma with Mathematics in the current year may also provisionally appear for NATA-2025.

Candidates may note that NATA 2025 is the qualifier for admission to B.Arch. program offered by Universities/ Institutions in the country, subject to the fulfillment of eligibility criteria as prescribed by the Council.

Q:   What's the difference between JEE MAINS Paper 2 and NATA?
A:

JEE Main Paper 2 is conducted for admissions to B.Arch/B.Planning courses at NITs, and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions. JEE Mains paper 2 is based on both drawing and maths skills, it has a math section (level is same as the Jee Mains paper 1) and a sketching and 3D interpretation section. The rank you obtain in paper 2 is independent of the paper 1 rank. The exam, like paper 1 is conducted by CBSE and helps you secure admission in SPAs ( School of Planning and Architecture) and the B.Arch courses in NITs. ( SPA Delhi is considered the best in the country).

NATA is a compulsory Exam conducted by the Council of Architecture and most of the institutes /colleges accept only NATA scores. NATA is a test that only tests drawing and 3D interpretation skills and even students from humanities or commerce backgrounds can answer the exam. The exam does not test mathematics or science knowledge. The exam is conducted by the Architecture's Association and it helps you secure admission recognized by them and you need to apply to different institutes independently with the NATA scores. CEPT in Ahmadabad is one of the good colleges which accepts NATA scores. Hope this information helps.

Q:   Can I do B.Arch in India without any entrance exam?
A:

Hi, it would be quite difficult for you to pursue B.Arch in India without appearing for any entrance exam as most of the colleges accept exams like NATA, JEE Main, etc. On the other hand, there is a limited option through the management quota, but these seats come with higher fees.
