For getting admission to M.Tech courses in Power Engineering at the IITs, you should have at least 55 to 60% marks in your bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a relevant field. If you belong to the reserved category, the marks eligibility requirement is usually relaxed by 5%. Also, you have to give the GATE exam. You must secure a good rank in the entrance exam as it plays the most important role in the admission process.
After you successfully secure a decent rank in GATE, you will have to appear for the COAP counselling process where you will be allotted a seat according to your rank at one of the IIT branches in India. Admission GATE Cutoffs: It is the final opening and closing rank score fixed by the participating institutes for the selection of candidates. It is declared by the individual participating institutes and available on their respective counselling portals (CCMT/ COAP).
CEETA PG stands for Common Engineering Entrance Test for Admission Postgraduate, a competitive examination for admission to ME, MTech, MArch, and MPlan programmes. Until 2022, the admissions were based on TANCET. From 2023, the admissions for ME, MTech, MArch, and MPlan programmes in Anna University, Annamalai University and other government colleges in Tamil Nadu are based on CEETA PG score.
Total 120 questions will be asked in the AP PGECET question paper. All the questions are Multiple Choice Questions. Solving question papers helps candidates successfully clear the AP PGECET 2025 exam. Each question carries one mark, and there is no provision for negative marking. The questions will be asked in the English language.
