NEET SS 2025: Registrations for NEET SS counselling 2025 Round 2 are being held from March 28 to April 3, 2026. Candidates can fill and lock their choices from March 29 to April 4, 2026. The MCC released the NEET SS round 1 seat allotment result on March 18, 2026. The NEET SS 2025 counselling began on March 10, 2026, with the release of registration form. The NEET SS results 2025 were released on January 23, 2026. The NBE published the NEET SS cut off and merit list along with the results. The NEET SS exam was held on December 26 and 27, 2025.

Candidates have to report to the allotted institutes and pay the admission fee to complete the process. They can opt for a seat upgrade in case they are not satisfied with the initial offer. There will be around three rounds of NEET SS counselling. The number of rounds may increase if there are vacant seats after the last round.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) started the NEET SS 2025 counselling on March 10, 2026. The NEET SS counselling round 1 seat allotment result was announced on March 18, 2026. Candidates can check and download NEET SS counselling seat allotment result PDF by using the process shared below-

What is NEET SS 2025?

NEET SS or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Super Speciality Courses) is conducted by the National Board of Education for admission to various DM/ MCh and DNB courses. It is a qualifying-cum-ranking examination for admission to medical super-speciality courses. According to the Indian Medical Council Act, 2016, no other entrance test is valid for admission to these courses. The duration of the NEET SS exam will be 150 minutes or 2.5 hours. The first shift will be conducted from 9 AM to 11.30 AM, and the second shift will be conducted from 2 PM to 4.30 PM.

NEET SS 2025 Result & Scorecard

The result for NEET SS 2025 was released in PDF download format on the official website of NBE. The NEET SS result 2025 was displayed in two formats. One PDF contains the result data and cut off marks and the second one is the merit list of qualified candidates. The NEET SS result PDF contains the cut off marks and scorecard release date. On the other hand, the NEET SS merit list PDF has been released group-wise for all 13 super speciality groups. The merit list comprises roll number, application ID, total marks scored and merit position or rank of candidates who qualified the exam and will be called for the counselling.

The NEET SS result PDF states, “If any questions were found to be technically incorrect, all candidates were awarded full marks for those specific questions, regardless of whether they attempted them or not”.

The NBE NEET SS result 2025 will now be handed over to the MCC, DGHS and MoHFW, the bodies responsible for NEET SS counselling.

NEET SS 2025 Eligibility Criteria

The National Board of Examinations (NBE) has prescribed the eligibility criteria for NEET SS. Candidates who wish to apply for the entrance test are advised to go through the NEET SS eligibility criteria before filling the application. NBEMS announced the NEET SS 2025 eligibility in the NEET SS information bulletin. 

  • Candidate must possess a postgraduate degree (MD/MS/DNB/ Equivalent) from a recognised institution
  • Candidates who will complete their postgraduate degree on or before January 31, 2026, will be eligible for NEET SS 2025
  • He/she must be registered with the Medical Council of India or State Medical Council

  • Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions

NEET SS 2025 For Foreign Nationals

Foreign nationals who wish to pursue a super-speciality course in India need to appear for the NEET SS 2025 examination and clear it. Such candidates do not need to be registered with the MCI/ SMC, provided he/ she is duly registered with the appropriate authority in his/ her own country.

On securing a seat through NEET SS, the MCI may grant temporary registration to these candidates for the duration of the postdoctoral course. This registration will be temporary and will be limited to the medical college/ institution to which he/she is admitted. 

The authorities have further notified that the prior eligibility criteria for admission to DM/MCh/DrNB courses shall be as per the Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023. NBE has stated, "Foreign Nationals, including Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) cardholders, can appear in NEET-SS 2025 without registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC). The NMC may, on payment of the prescribed fee for registration, grant temporary registration for the duration of the Post Doctoral course limited to the medical college/institution to which he/she is admitted for the time being exclusively for pursuing postdoctoral studies."

NEET SS 2025 Application Process

The application process for NEET SS 2025 began on November 5 and concluded on November 25, 2025. The duration to submit the NEET SS application form, along with the fee, was 20 days. Candidates needed to first register by entering details such as name, date of birth, Email, and mobile number. Candidates could apply online for the exam using the process shared below-

  1. Log in with the registration details.
  2. Fill up the form.
  3. Pay a non-refundable fee of INR 3,500 through credit card, debit card, or internet banking.
  4. Save and take a printout of the NEET SS 2025 application form page.

NEET SS Application Form Correction 2025

The NBE provided the application correction facilities twice. The registered students could take the NEET SS application correction from November 28 to 30, 2025, to edit the information entered in the first round of form correction. The final NEET SS form correction 2025 facility was available from December 12 to 14, 2025, to rectify or correct the photograph, signature and thumb impression. The NEET SS form correction process is shared below-

NEET SS 2025 Admit Card

The NEET SS admit card has been uploaded online, and candidates have to log in to the accounts created during the registration process to download it. The admit card contains personal details and crucial information such as exam date, timing, name of the centre and its address, and guidelines. Candidates were issued the NEET SS 2025 admit card on December 22, 2025, four days before the exam. Candidates can download their NEET SS hall tickets using the process shared below-

  2. Go to the NEET SS exam.
  3. Click on the login link.
  4. Enter the required details.
  5. Download the hall ticket.
  6. Take its printout.

Candidates can download the admit card for NEET SS 2025 till the last date of the exam. The NEET SS admit card 2025 must be carried to the exam centre, without which candidates will not be allowed entry. Candidates must preserve the NEET SS admit card 2025 till the counselling process.  

Test takers have to paste their latest passport-size photograph of a minimum 35x45 mm with at least 75 per cent area on the photograph occupied by the face and head of the candidate. The photograph should be coloured and on a white background.

NEET SS Exam Pattern 2025

NBE released the NEET SS 2025 exam pattern along with the information bulletin on November 5. NEET SS is the postgraduate super-speciality medical entrance exam conducted in a computer-based mode for 2.5 hours or 150 minutes. There are 15 groups or super-speciality subjects that are tested, and candidates have to choose their question paper groups during the application process. The papers are scheduled in such a way that there is no clash of exam dates or slots. There will be a total of three sections in the paper, carrying 50 questions. The sectional time limit for each section is 50 minutes. NBE had introduced the sectional time limits last year, and this pattern is being followed this year as well.

Explaining the time-bound sections, NBEMS stated, "Candidates will be restricted from proceeding to the next section until they complete the allotted time for the previous section. Additionally, candidates will not be allowed to review the questions or modify their responses for a section after the completion of its allotted time. The questions for the next section will start automatically after the completion of the allotted time for the previous section."

Each question carries four marks and for each wrong answer, there will be a negative marking of one mark for each wrong answer. The full marks of the NEET SS exam is 600. 

NEET SS exam paper comprises questions from the general/basic components of the primary feeder broad speciality subject and from all sub-specialities/systems/components of that primary feeder broad speciality subject.

Q:   What is the mode of the NEET SS counselling?
A: 

The NEET SS counselling process is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) primarily in online mode. All the steps of the counselling process, including the registration, release of seat matrix, choice filling and locking, and release of the seat allotment result. Only the last and final round, which is the institute reporting, has to be done in offline mode. Herein candidates who have been allotted seats have to visit the institutes for document verification and complete the admission process by paying the requisite fee amount. 

Q:   My name is spelt incorrectly in NEET SS admit card. What should I do?
A: 

If you have spelt your name correctly in application form of NEET SS and it is still misspelled on admit card, you must contact office of NBE to get it corrected. That is why candidates are advised to check all details on NEET SS admit card carefully after download. To correct detail, candidates should email the exam conducting body immediately.

Q:   Which body conducts the NEET SS counselling?
A: 

The NEET SS counselling is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for the 100 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) seats of the M.Ch, DNB and DrNB courses. Candidates have to participate in the NEET SS counselling process is an online mode, by visiting the official website and completing the processes such as registration, choice filling and locking, and checking of the seat allotment result. The final step, which is institute reporting, is done at an institute level. 

Q:   What are the prohibited items at NEET SS exam centre?
A: 

The following items will be prohibited from being carried to the NEET SS exam centre:

·         Any stationery item like textual material (printed or written), notes, plastic pouch, calculator, pen, writing pad, pen drives, eraser, etc.

·         Any electronic device like mobile phone, bluetooth, earphones, microphone, pager, wrist watch/health band/smart watch, calculator, electronic pen/scanner etc.

·         All ornaments like bracelets, ring, earrings, nose-pin, chain/ necklace, pendants, necklace with pendants, badge, brooch etc. Items carried due to religious beliefs, if any, shall only be permitted after thorough examination.

·         Other items like wallet, goggles, handbags, belt, cap, water bottle etc.

·         Any edible item opened or packed, soft drinks, water bottle etc.

·         Any other item which could be used for unfair means, for hiding communication devices like wireless/Bluetooth device, spy camera etc.

·         In case candidates need to carry medicines or a medical equipments, they must carry supportive medical documents such as prescriptions or reports.

Q:   Does NBE send NEET SS admit card on email?
A: 

No. NBE doesn't send NEET SS admit card on email. Candidates have to download the admit card from the official website, nbe.edu.in. Candidates are informed through SMS/Email alerts and website notice regarding availability of the admit card on the official website. Candidates do have to affix firmly their the latest passport size photograph in the space provided on the admit card. The photograph should be coloured with white backround. To download NEET SS admit card, candidates need to enter login ID and password. There is no fee involved to download admit card multiple times. 

Q:   Can I apply offline for NEET SS?
A: 

No. National Board of Examinations NBE released application form online and it has to be submitted there only. The application process started with online registration. Registration could be done on the official website, nbe.edu.in. It must be noted offline and any other mode of application was not be accepted. NBE released the information brochure, explaining the whole process of application. Candidates were advised to read it carefully before applying for NEET SS exam.

Q:   Can I carry stationary items at NEET SS exam Centre?
A: 

No. Candidates can't carry stationary items such as pen, writing pad etc. They can carry only admit card and valid photo identity proof at exam centre. List of items which are debarred at NEET SS exam centre include:

  • Any stationery item like textual material (printed or written), Pen Drives, Eraser, etc. 
  • Any electronic device like mobile phone, Bbluetooth, earphones etc.
  • All ornaments like bracelets, rind, earrings, Nose-pin

  • Read the instructions and click on 'I Agree' checkbox
  • Click on 'I am Ready to Begin' tab

  • You may also click on 'Mark for Review' or 'Clear Responses' if you want to rethink or re-attempt the answer.
Q:   How many rounds are conducted for NEET SS counselling process?
A: 

There are approximately three to four rounds of counselling for the NEET SS exam. Last year, there were originally two rounds of NEET SS counselling and later, an additional round was announced since the NEET SS cutoff was revised. This year also, it can be expected that there will be three rounds of NEET SS counselling. Followed by this, there will be additional rounds, in case there is a change in the cutoff or seat matrix, the number of NEET SS counselling rounds will increase. 

Q:   What is the total duration of NEET SS counselling for each round?
A: 

As announced by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), there will be three rounds of NEET SS 2025 counselling. The average duration for each round of counselling is going to be around 15 days. 

The total number of rounds or the duration may be changed depending on the seat vacancies and other external scenarios. 

Q:   What is the total duration of the NEET SS counselling?
A: 

The total duration of the NEET SS counselling ranged for around three months. There will be three to four rounds of counselling. The total duration for each round is approximately 15 days. The number of rounds of NEET SS counselling varies depending on the vacant seats or revision in cutoff.
