Now, while the process of the university has changed, the competitiveness of the colleges allocated to the students under DU have not. Hence, it can  be considered that getting into a BCom college under DU for a General category student with 83 percent will be equally tough in 2024 as it was earlier. In IPU CET for each correct answer, four marks will be awarded and for each incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted. There is no marks deducted for unanswered questions.

The examination is conducted for 150 minutes or 2 hours 30 minutes. The candidates should be aware of the marking scheme before attempting the exam.

Q:   How to avoid common mistakes in CET-IPU?
A:

Few of the common mistakes done by students while preparing for CET-IPU are:

  • Not having a proper time table: Students work hard, but many of them do not prepare a daily/weekly time table. Time-table must be in such a way that it must be promising and must be followed.
  • Clearing doubts: A lot of students feel shy to ask about their doubts about their faculties and at that moment, they leave those doubts and move on which creates problems for exam preparation and revision.
  • Regular revision: Needs to regularly revise all the concepts, formulae and shortcuts learnt, else, it might become difficult to recall them on the day of the final exam. For this, you can keep half a day aside every week or fortnight, wherein you would be revising all that you have covered so far.
  • Skipping mock test: Mock tests are for revision. In that, they clear their doubts and give details about time management and tell you how much you need to prepare.
  • Analysis of mock test: You must need to give a maximum of 8 mock tests and analyse every mock test.
  • Giving up in the middle of the journey: Many students think that it’s not possible to crack the exam. So, they give up and start preparing for other exams or else, they leave their aim or passion.
Q:   What is CUET UG passing marks?
A:

There are no prescribed passing marks for CUET UG. In order to know if a candidate has passed the CUET 2025 exam or not or is eligible for admission to desired course and university, they are required to check the passing marks released by the colleges/university seperately. After the declaration of CUET result, all the colleges or universities will release the course-wise passing marks or CUET UG cutoff, which will be used for shortlisting candidates for admission to UG courses.

On the basis of the cut off released by the CUET participating universities and candidates meeting the criteria will be offered amdission to UG courses.

Q:   What are my chances of getting B.Com (P) or B.Com (Hons) in any college of University of Delhi with a score 550 marks in CUET?
A:

Usually, the average cut off range for B.Com or B.Com (hons) at DU is around from 84% to 98%. The highest cut-off marks for DU admissions typically fall between 650-700. For admission to the B.Com (Hons) course, a score above 700 is considered good. For admission to the English (Hons) course, a score above 700-720 is considered good. So, unfortunately with 550 marks in CUET you cannot get any seat in B.Com at DU.
