What is CTET?
CTET is an eligibility exam conducted at the national level. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is the conducting body of the CTET exam. The CTET exam is conducted every year to determine the eligibility of students who want to become teachers in Central Government Schools, such as KVS and NVS, among others. There are two papers in the CTET- Paper 1 and Paper 2. The CTET Paper 1 is for students who want to teach Classes 1-5 (Primary Teachers), and Paper 2 is for candidates who want to teach Classes 6-8 (Elementary Teachers). Candidates who wish to teach Classes 1-8 need to take both papers. The CBSE has so far conducted 20 editions of the CTET exam. The CBSE CTET exam is conducted offline in pen-and-paper mode.

CTET Form Correction 2026
The CBSE will open the CTET 2026 application correction window for the September session. This facility will allow candidates to rectify any errors in the online submitted form. This facility will be provided by the CBSE for a specified time period. After that, no requests will be considered to modify the application and incorrect or incomplete applications will be rejected by the authority. CTET Eligibility Criteria 2026
It is very important for a candidate to go through once the CTET eligibility criteria before applying for the CTET exam. Also, candidates can apply for either CTET Paper 1, Paper 2 or both Papers. Paper 1 is for teaching classes 1 to 5 and Paper 2 for classes 6 to 8. Therefore, depending on it, candidates can apply and must fulfil the required eligibility in terms of age limit, qualifications, etc.
Nationality
Candidates must be citizens of India to appear for the exam.
CTET Paper 1 Eligibility
Class 12 with a minimum of 50/ 45 per cent marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/ Education or 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education OR
Bachelor’s degree with a BEd degree.
Paper 2 Eligibility for 6 to 8 Class Teachers
Graduation with 50 or 40 per cent marks with Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years) OR BEd OR Bachelor of Elementary Education OR
Senior Secondary with 50 per cent marks, and cleared or appearing in the final year exam of B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed or B.A/B.Sc.Ed.

CTET 2026 Hall Ticket
The admit card will be issued a few days before the exam date by the CBSE on the official portal at ctet.nic.in. The hall ticket is important for a candidate to carry at the examination centre otherwise he or she will not be allowed to sit in the exam. Candidate should check it properly before downloading it. If any discrepancies occur in the call letter then it should be reported and addressed immediately. The CTET admit card contains the details shared below-

The CTET exam is valid for life time. Earlier, the CTET eligibility Certificate was valid for a period of seven years starting from the date of declaration of result. However, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and CBSE officially extended the CTET passing Certificate validity to lifetime. Candidates need to fulfil the age limit criteria fixed by the respective teacher recruiting body such as NVS, KVS or others. Therefore, candidates can apply for the teaching jobs after qualifying the Central Teacher Eligibility Test CTET however, they must fall within the age limit defined by the respective agency.
The CTET 2026 exam registration for the September session was started. The CBSE released the CTET application form link with the notification. Candidates need to apply online at ctet.nic.in. The last date to apply is June 10.
There are no fixed the highest marks in the CTET exam. The exam is of total 150 marks. Those who obtain over 120 marks are good scorers.
Candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks are considered CTET pass. Those who get over and above the set marks are considered good scorers. Hence, scoring 120 marks in the CTET exam is good.
Candidates need to carry these documents to the CTET exam centre-

- Original photo ID proof such as PAN Card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, or Aadhaar Card.
