What is UPTET 2025?
UPTET is a state-level exam conducted once a year that enables candidates to gain eligibility for Primary (Classes 1 to 5) and Upper Primary (Classes 6-8) level teachers in the schools of Uttar Pradesh. The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) conducts the exam on behalf of the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB). UPTET exam is conducted in two shifts for two papers - Papers 1 and 2. UPTET Paper 1 is conducted for candidates who plan to become teachers of Classes 1-5. On the other hand, UPTET Paper 2 is for candidates who plan to become teachers of Classes 6-8. However, the candidates who wish to become teachers of Classes 1-8 need to appear in both papers of UPTET 2025.

UPTET Age limit for Paper 1 & Paper 2
Candidates should have attained a minimum of 18 years of age in order to be eligible to apply for the UPTET exam. There is no upper age limit in the UPTET exam.
UPTET Educational Qualification for Paper 1 & Paper 2

UPTET Paper 1 Educational Qualification (Primary Teacher)
Candidates need to fulfil any one of the eligibility conditions mentioned below in terms of educational qualification in order to appear for the UPTET Paper 1:
- Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education
- Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd)
- Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Education (Special Education)
- Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education
- Graduation with BEd (final year appearing or passed)
