According to a research study, an entry-level CA having less than one year of experience can expect their earning or total compensation (including bonus as well as pay for overtime) on an average to be approximately Rs 6.25 lakh per annum based on 678 salaries. A CA who has nearly one to four years of experience in this field can expect to earn an average total compensation, including variables, of approximately Rs 7.08 lakh per annum based on 1,323 salaries. Those with an experience of five to nine years can earn an average total compensation of Rs 11.05 lakh per annum based on 616 salaries. A highly experienced individual with ten to nineteen years of experience can earn up to Rs 18 lakh per annum based on 253 salaries.

According to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) Placement Feb-March 2019 data, CAs have been offered an average salary package of approximately Rs 8.40 lakhs per annum in 2019. At the ICAI's placement drive for 2019, the highest package offered was Rs 22.30 lakh per annum. The institute had conducted two campus drives for newly-qualified CAs. Average Salaries for Chartered Accountants in Dubai, the USA, the UK, and Other Countries

After completing the CA course, many aspirants plan to work for companies abroad. Most of the CAs from India are placed in Dubai, the USA and the UK. A fresher working as a CA in an MNC in Dubai can expect a starting salary of approximately AED7,500, including accommodation. And, those working for an accounting firm can expect a monthly salary of approximately AED6,500.

For those willing to work for companies or businesses in the UK can expect an average annual earning (salary+bonus) as a chartered accountant with two to four years of experience to be approximately £56,000. With just a few more years of experience, the candidate can expect an average annual salary to rise to approximately £90,200, along with an added privilege of yearly bonus of approximately £20,600.

On the other hand, if a student wants to set career as CA in the USA, then they can expect an annual salary ranging from approximately $39,930 to approximately $111,510. With years of experience, the amount keeps on rising.
