The Mumbai University Institute of Distance and Open Learning (MU IDOL) has announced that it has postponed the 1st and 3rd-semester exams. The institute has postponed exams for the Bachelor of Commerce courses. The examination was scheduled to be held in the month of March-April.

The MU IDOL has taken this decision to postpone B.Com's 1st and 3rd-semester exams due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the country.

The B.Com 1st semester exams were supposed to start from March 31 and the 3rd semester from April 15th, 2020.

The varsity has also announced that that fresh dates for the B.Com 1st and 3rd-semester exams will be announced once the lockdown imposed in the country, to prevent the further outbreak of coronavirus is over. Students will be informed accordingly about the new dates. Earlier, the university had decided not to cancel the examinations in the colleges affiliated with it, however, with nation-wide 21-day lockdown, the authorities have decided to postpone it.

The annual exams for Classes 1 to 8 will not be conducted this year, but, for Classes 9 and 10 the exams will be conducted after April 15, the Maharashtra Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education said in a statement.

This was announced while keeping in mind that the lockdown will be over by then. However, the Board is yet to make a final decision in this regard.
