First cut-off list

The annual fest of Delhi University (DU) admissions kicked off today with the announcement of the first cut-off list. Though the cut-offs for top courses remained high, none of the colleges is seeking 100 per cent unlike past two years.

The highest cut-off for the most sought after DU course B Com Honours this year is 99.25 percent at Ramjas College. Surprisingly, Shriram College of Commerce (SRCC) which is considered India’s best college for commerce studies, is seeking less that Ramjas for admissions to its B Com Honours course. The cut off for SRCC’s B Com Honours course is 98 percent and 98.25 percent for Economics Honours.

Cut-off of College of Vocational Studies for B Com Honours is 98 percent, as well.

Among women’s colleges, Lady Shriram College topped other colleges with the 98 per cent cut-off. It is closely followed by Gargi College which announced its B Com Honours cut-off at 97.25 percent.

The admission under first cut–off list started today and will go on till July 3, 2016. The second cut-off list will be announced on July 4, 2016 and the admissions will start from July 5, 2016.

This year, admission process went completely online. The students were expected to fill the application form online between June 1-22, 2016 and book seats in colleges of their preferences. Admissions will be granted on basis of the same.

Classes in DU will begin from July 20, 2016.
