CMA Intermediate exam: The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) released CMA intermediate exam dates for December 2023 term. CMA Dec 2023 exam for Intermediate course will be conducted from Dec 10 to 17. CMA Intermediate December 2023 exam will be conducted as an offline centre based test. Along with the release of CMA Dec exam dates, ICMAI had also commenced the exam form submission. Students can fill the CMA Intermediate exam form for December 2023 session until October 17. 

Candidates aspiring for CMA admission and appearing for the exam in June 2024 term must complete the online registration on or before January 31, 2024. CMA Intermediate course registration is available online on the official website, icmai.in.

ICMAI, formerly known as ICWAI, facilitated the enrolment process for candidates aspiring for the December 2023 term exam until August 17. Candidates will soon find the CMA June 2024 exam dates on the official website. Candidates proceeding for CMA registration will now be eligible for the June 2024 term exams.

Q:   Will there be negative marking in CMA exam at any three levels?

A:

No. There is no negative marking in the CMA exam, irrespective of the three course levels. Candidates can answer all questions without worrying about deduction of the marks. All questions in the CMA Foundation exam will fetch two marks each. While the questions in the CMA Intermediate and CMA Final course levels have different marks range. The maximum marks ranges from six marks to 15 marks per question. Candidates will not face any deduction of the marks, if the recorded answer is incorrect or the question is unattempted.

Q:   What are the test papers included in CMA Final course level?

A:

CMA Final exam has two-course groups. Candidates can either appear for a single course group or both course groups in one session. The space below mention the test papers for both the course groups of the CMA Final exam:

  • PAPER 13: Corporate and Economic Lawns (CEL)
  • PAPER 14: Strategic Financial Management (SFM)

  • PAPER 17: Cost and Management Audit (CMAD)
  • PAPER 18: Corporate Financial Reporting (CFR) 
  • PAPER 19: Indirect Tax Lawns and Practice (ITLP)
  • PAPER 20: One of the following subjects
    • PAPER 20A: Strategic Performance Management and Business Evaluation (SPMBV)
    • PAPER 20B: Risk Management in Banking and Insurance (RMBI) 
    • PAPER 20C: Entrepreneurship and Start Up (ENTS)

CMA Cutoff Dates for Intermediate Course Registration

ICAI, commonly known as ICMAI, facilitates the enrolment process for the CMA Intermediate exam and other course exams throughout the year. Candidates who apply between January 31 and July 31 are eligible for the December term exams. Candidates applying after July 31 and before January 31 are eligible for the December session.

CMA Intermediate Registration 2023

Candidates aspiring for the CMA Intermediate course must enrol for the same online. Candidates who have qualified the CMA Foundation exam are eligible for the intermediate course. Alternatively, candidates holding a degree are eligible for direct entry to the CMA Intermediate course. 

CMA registration for Intermediate course level is facilitated on the official website. The steps to complete the ICMAI registration are as follows:

  1. Visit the official website of ICMAI, that is icmai.in
  2. Click on the ‘Students’ tab from the menu bar followed by clicking the ‘Online Admission’ tab from the sidebar.
  3. Click on the button stating ‘Apply for CMA Intermediate Course’
  4. Enter all the mandatory details followed by uploading documents and paying the enrolment fees
  5. Save the transaction receipt and enrolment ID for future references.

CMA Intermediate Eligibility Criteria

Candidates can pursue CMA Intermediate course via two different routes, including admission after clearing Foundation exam, and direct admission. The space below mentions the eligible candidates for CMA Intermediate course:

Candidates who have passed any of the following exams are eligible to apply for CMA Intermediate admission:

  • Foundation course offered by ICAI
  • Entry level Part I of Certificate in Accounting Technicians (CAT) courses offered by ICAI
  • Bachelor’s degree of any recognised university
  • Master’s degree from any recognised university or IIM
  • Engineering degree of any recognised university or IIT or IISc
  • Final exam of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or England or Wales or Scotland or Ireland.
  • Final exam of ICSI
  • Final exam of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK
  • Intermediate (by whatever name called) qualified students of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India
  • Section A and Section B exam of the Institutions of Engineers (India) or equivalent
  • Subordinate Accounts Service Examination conducted by Central/State Government Organisations
  • Part I and Part II of Banking exams styled C.A.I.I.B.

CMA Intermediate Exam Form 2023

Students of CMA Intermediate course will be allowed to fill the exam form after the release of the exam dates. ICAI releases the CMA intermediate exam dates on the official website. Candidates can fill and submit the CMA exam form for Intermediate course online. Brief steps to complete the CMA exam form submission are as follows:

  1. Visit the CMA student website
  2. Click on the link for ‘Online Examination Form’ from the sidebar
  3. Select the course from the drop-down menu
  4. Enter the registration number
  5. Fill the student's details and press ‘Submit’ button
  6. Upload photograph and signature
  7. Choose mode of fee payment followed by paying the CMA exam fee

CMA Intermediate Exam Fee

Candidates need to fill the CMA exam fee for the intermediate course. Those who wish to appear for both the groups of CMA exam at once can have to pay the exam fee for both the groups separately. Candidates have to pay INR 1,200 for each course group.

CMA Intermediate Admit Card 2023

ICAI releases the ICMAI admit card for intermediate courses online. Hard copy of the CMA admit card must be carried to the exam hall on the exam day. The admit card of CMA Intermediate exam hosts the crucial information regarding the exam, including the exam dates and test taker’s details. Officials at the exam centre will verify these details on the exam day.

ICAI releases the ICMAI results for Intermediate course on the official website, i.e. icmai.in. Candidates can visit the official website to check the CMA Inter result as per the schedule. The press release of CMA result Dec 2022 will host the list of all candidates who have passed the exam. The login portal will host the scores of individual test takers. Candidates can login to the CMA result portal to know the subject-wise scores and qualifying status.
