The Institute of Company Secretaries of India has released the list of frequently asked questions on ICSI CSEET 2024 exam. Candidates who have registered for the CSEET 2024 exam for July session can check for their queries. CSEET 2024 July session is scheduled to be held on July 06, 2024 in remote proctored mode. Q1. How will the CSEET be conducted? Will it be conducted from test centres or at home?

Ans. CSEET 2024 July session will be conducted in remote proctored mode instead of test centre based. Candidates will be invigilated through an online proctor. Candidates can take the exam from their laptops/desktops in an isolated or convenient place in their homes. Test takers will not be allowed to take the exam from tablets or mobiles.  

Q2. Will the Viva Voce be conducted in Remote Proctored Mode as in the case of CSEET conducted from Test centres?

Ans. In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Viva Voce will stand cancelled. The upcoming exam for CSEET 2024 will be held on July 06 in the existing exam pattern. Each paper will consist of 35 questions. Paper 4 will include questions from Current Affairs and Quantitative Aptitude. 

Q3. What is the CSEET exam pattern?

Ans. As per the CSEET exam pattern, the exam will be conducted for a duration of 120 minutes. Check the table below to know the complete pattern of the question paper:

Q4. If I am able to pass CSEET but have NOT passed the 10+2 (Senior Secondary Examination), shall I be eligible to seek registration in Executive Programme?

Ans. No candidates seeking registration on the Executive programme must fulfil the eligibility criteria below: 

The test taker must have passed the CSEET within one year as of date (Validity of CSEET result will be clearly indicated on the Result- cum-marks Statement) 

Candidates must have passed 10+2 (Senior Secondary Examination) conducted by the Central Government or State Government or equivalent thereto for the purposes of admission to a bachelor’s degree course.  

Registered candidates not fulfilling any one of the conditions at the time of seeking registration on the Executive Programme of Company Secretary Course shall be rejected without notice. Test takers are advised to take note of the above and the Institute January not be held responsible for any complications at a later stage. 

Q5. What is the validity of the CSEET result?

Ans. The result of CSEET will be valid for a year from the date of declaration. After the expiry of the validity candidates will have to appear for the CSEET again if they are seeking admission to the Executive programme.  

Q6. What documents should I keep ready for CSEET 2024 exam through remote proctored mode?

Ans. Candidates must have the following documents ready with them while taking the exam: 

  • CSEET admit card 
  • Photo identity card issued by the Government (Any one) 
  • Passport 
  • Driving License 
  • PAN Card 
  • UID 
  • Aadhaar Card 
  • Voter Card 

Candidates will not be permitted to keep any other document other than that mentioned above. 

Q7. When can I login for the online proctored test?

Ans. Candidates must log in for the CSEET online proctored test 30 minutes prior to the specified time for the commencement of the exam. Candidates will not be permitted to take the exam 15 minutes after the commencement of the exam.  

Q8. Can I close the test window after submitting the CSEET test before the completion of 90 minutes?

Ans. Candidates will not be permitted to finish the test until the completion of the 90-minute duration.  

Q9. What is the passing criteria for CSEET?

Ans. As per the CSEET passing criteria candidates must have scored a minimum of 40% marks in each paper separately. Also, the candidate must have obtained 50% in aggregate. 

Q10. Is there any negative marking in CSEET?

Ans. As per the CSEET marking scheme there will be no negative marking for any wrong answers or unattended questions.

Q11. When can I download the CSEET 2024 July session admit card?

Ans. The CSEET July 2024 session admit card will be issued 10 days prior to the CSEET exam. Candidates will be able to download the CSEET admit card 2024 from the official website- icsi.edu. 

Q12. How can I download the CSEET 2024 admit card?

Ans. Registered candidates will be able to download the CSEET admit card 2024 from the official website by entering the login credentials- Unique ID and date of birth. Candidates will be notified when the link for admit card is activated.

Q13. Which are restricted items for CSEET online proctored exam?

Ans. While appearing for the CSEET 2024 online proctored exam no candidates will be allowed to keep any study material, book, printed notes, mobile phone, headphones, pager, earphone, calculator, laptop, Bluetooth device, smartwatch, palmtop, health band, or any other electronic gadgets. Candidates suspected of practising any unfair means will be disqualified.

Q14. Can I keep a rough sheet/paper while taking the test?

Ans. No, candidates will not be permitted to keep any kind of paper, book or sheet while taking the test.

Q16. Will I be given extra time in case of power failure or internet connection errors?

Ans. Candidates shall be given a grace time of 15 minutes to compensate for the time loss due to power failure or internet connection error. Candidates are recommended to charge their laptops or UPS attached to desktops beforehand.

Q17. What is the process to be followed to appear for the CSEET online proctored exam?

Ans. CSEET test takers will be remotely proctored from the control room of the institute. To conduct the process smoothly, candidates must follow the instructions mentioned below: 

  • Candidates will be sent the login credentials via SMS and mail before the test. 
  • Candidates will have to undergo identity verification at two levels: 
  • Level 1- The candidate’s photo will be captured. The AI tool will monitor the picture of the test-taker throughout the exam. In case of any mismatch, the system will capture anonymity and a notification will be displayed to the candidate.  
  • Level 2- Test Takers will have to display the admit card and ID proof. The proctor will instruct the candidate to display after logging in to the test.

Q18. I am a person wearing spectacles, but in Admit Card photo is without spectacles. Will there be a problem in taking the Test?

Ans. The facial mismatch is done by capturing the photo live at the commencement of the test, and the system will capture both the images for record. 

Q19. Which actions of the candidates shall be considered as a violation of the rules against which Live Proctors are empowered to take action?

Ans. Candidate must not practice any unfair means, failing to which the system will automatically collect data and will alert the online proctor for the following parameters: 

  • Focus changed to a different window 
  • Browser not supported 
  • Webcam is disabled 
  • The face is not visible in the camera 
  • Several faces in front of the camera 
  • The face does not match the profile 
  • Microphone muted or its volume is low 
  • Conversation or noise in the background 
  • Screen activities are not shared 
  • Second display is used 
  • Full-screen mode is disabled 

Q20. How shall the Live Proctors be controlling the conduct of CSEET?

Ans. The live proctors shall control the conduct of the CSEET by:  

  • Communicating with the candidate via microphone only or the camera + sound 
  • Chatting with the candidate 
  • Taking every minute snapshot of the candidate will be taken 
  • At the end of the session, the Proctor will leave a positive or negative comment as per the conduct of the test taker. If there is no violation during the test then the Proctor will mark a positive conclusion. 
  • The candidate will be disqualified in case of any violation of the instruction provided by the proctor. 

Q21. If any candidate wants to chat to live proctor, how to proceed.

Ans. In case to chat with the live proctor candidate can wave his/her hand in front of the camera/web camera.

Q22. Where can I contact in case of technical issues before the commencement of the Test?

Ans. In case of any technical issues during the CSEET exam candidates can call on the Helpdesk number- 9513850026 / 9513850031. The helpline numbers will be active from April 19 onwards.

Q23. What will happen if there are disruptions during the course of the Test?

Ans. In case of any disruption, candidates will be allowed to log in again and continue from here it was left. In such instances, remote proctor will keep the tab on. Candidates will only be given a additional time of 15 minutes in case of any loss of time. 

Q24. Will there be any mock test for CSEET?

Ans. Aspirants will be able to attempt the mock test for CSEET. Authorities will conduct the CSEET mock test in July 2024. The mock test will help candidates to get familiar with the actual exam environment and exam pattern of CSEET. 

Q25. Can I attempt the questions in any sequence?

Ans. Yes, test takers can attempt the question in any sequence or order.  

Q26. What are the login credentials for the mock test?

Ans. There will be a generic login ID and password for the CSEET candidates to log in for the mock test.  

Q27. Can I use the mobile hotspot for the internet?

Ans. Yes, if the requisite internet speed is available, then candidates can create a hotspot. However, test takers must keep the mobile out of reach during the test. 

Q28. Can I use a tablet or mobile phone to take the test?

Ans. No candidates are permitted to use mobile phones or tablets to take the CSEET online proctored test. 

Q29. Which is the preferred browser to take CSEET?

Ans. Candidates must download the Chrome browser (latest version) to appear for CSEET. Test takers can download the latest version of Chrome from the link provided https://www.google.com/intl/en_in/chrome/ 

Q30. How can I know that my laptop/desktop meets the exam technical requirements?

Ans. While taking the mock test, candidates can validate the compatibility of the hardware. In case the candidate faces any technical issue, they can contact technical support. 

Q31. Can I log in before or after the start time of CSEET?

Ans. Candidates are advised to log in for the CSEET online proctored test 30 minutes prior to the start time. Candidates will not be permitted to log in after 15 minutes from the commencement of the exam. 

Q32. What to do if a candidate’s system crashes or is interrupted in between the Test?

Ans. After the commencement of the exam, if the candidate faces a genuine technical glitch due to a power cut or internet failure in such a case, he/she can log in after 2-3 minutes, and the exam will resume from where the candidate left. All the previously attempted questions will be saved automatically. Candidates must note that the clock will continue till the prescribed time.

Q33. Invalid Login ID and Password error reported while logging in. What should I do? 

Ans. In case of any error during login, candidates must recheck the details entered or check the case sensitivity on the keyboard. In case candidates continue to face the issue, they must contact the technical support at helpline numbers.

Q34. I am not able to start the Test after I logged in. What can I do?

Ans. Candidates must check for Internet connectivity before beginning the test. Candidates must check their batch schedule for their respective subjects by email or admit card to ensure they are Logging in to the correct batch time. If the problem still persists, candidates must call the technical support team at the helpline numbers. 

Q35. My Test Page shows an error message- “Question Paper is downloading” or” Contact Test Center Administrator”. What to do?

Ans. Check for Internet Connectivity. Logout and Login after 2-3 minutes with proper Internet Connectivity. If the problem still persists, please call the technical support team at the helpline numbers. 

Q36. How can I know which questions are unanswered?

Ans. On the left side of the screen, candidates can notice the questions marked with different colours. Each colour indicates whether the question is answered, unanswered, or marked for review. 

Q37. Can I change the answer after moving to the next question?

Ans. Yes, candidates can switch between questions and can modify their answers.  

Q38. How should I submit my test?

Ans. ‘End Test’ tab will appear on the last question of the test. After answering all the questions candidates can click on the tab ‘End Test’ after 90 minutes from the commencement of the test. 

Q39. What should be the attire of candidates appearing in test?

Ans. It should be decent and presentable. Candidates should wear such clothes presuming as if they are physically sitting in the exam centre and appearing for the test. Candidates are advised to sit properly and comfortably on a table/chair on the right to appear in the test. They should not lie down on a bed or do not sit in awkward positions. 

Q40. What should be set in the room from where the candidate is appearing for the test??

Ans. The setting of the room should be maintained in the exam like environment, disciplined and without any disturbances. The surroundings of the room should be neat & clean. During the exam, the live proctor January ask the candidate to show a 360-degree view of the room. 

Q41. What is a 360-degree view?

Ans. All around rotating the Camera for taking a picture/view of the surrounding of the candidate where he /she is appearing for the Test. 

Q42. Whether drinking water allowed during the Test?

Ans. The Candidates can keep drinking water in a transparent bottle during the Test. 

Q43. Is bio break (use of Toilet) allowed during the Test?

Ans. The candidates will not be allowed to take bio-break (use of Toilet) during the test. If any candidate takes any break during the test, he will be treated as resorting to unfair means.
