Mystory@Nivedita Agarwal

My college days were different as compared to others. All my friends went to college for fun but I went to college for acquiring knowledge and practical experience. My college principal supported me to go to work because I was good at debate competitions. So he encouraged me to participate and win the debate competition and make my college famous. I won many trophies for debate and dancing. Though my parents were ready to support my career, I wanted to take my own responsibilities of earning and learning which I did well. Now I have got 10 years of teaching experience with good marks in my graduation. I believe we all should take our responsibility as early as possible. This will make us strong and prepare us to be stable and happy in every situation.

Though while working, I could attend less classes, I tried to attend the important ones like Accounts and Mathematics. I would say I learnt a lot from these subjects and my teachers. Unfortunately, I missed the most important chapter of Accounts and naturally, I missed out on the basics of the subject. Still, I managed to secure good marks. So now I think that if I had attended regular college and classes, I could have easily scored excellent grades in my academics. I suggest you should take college year and all the subjects very seriously. Because of each class we miss out, we end up missing out on critical knowledge and regret later.

I was highly inspired by my teachers. We always tend to think that a teacher’s job is very easy but this is where our thinking is wrong. Teachers are planning for their student lessons even as students are busy enjoying their vacations. Undoubtedly, a good teacher and their skills can change the lives of thousands of students. Initially, I made the mistake of punishing the children only to realize later that a child’s habit can change only with love and care rather than punishment. Every person needs love, respect and attention. After I understood this, I succeeded as a good teacher as I started considering my students as my own children and friends. A teacher should be like a parent and friend and want the best for their students. I chose Commerce in my academic stream in the XIth standard as I was never particularly interested in Science and Arts. I always wanted to learn Secretary Practices, Accounts and Economics.

Earn, learn and make your career without depending on others. Now I am a married woman and working in a company as an Admin. My hobbies are art, dance and learning new things. We should be ready to accept all challenges and learn about new things too. The more you learn, the more you will be able to present yourself differently in front of the world. Try to be unique and passionate in whatever you like to do. Don't copy others and be original.
