Multimedia professionals may enter into linear or non-linear type of multimedia careers. Linear multimedia projects may include animated advertisements where recorded animation videos are played in pre-decided formats. Special effects in movies can be another example of linear multimedia tasks.
There can be multimedia presentations that can be linear or just go in a pre-decided format; or non-linear that can include some interactive elements. This interaction can be menu-based where users can choose from pre-decided options to see different versions of the presentation or live interaction, where presenter directly communicates with the audience.
Non-linear or interactive multimedia is increasingly becoming popular with the net-age users. Exciting and thrilling video games are largely interactive in nature, where the game moves on based on the actions of the players. Similarly, you can find multimedia kiosks at museums, libraries, ATMs, hospitals and at airports, where public can easily access information or punch in their details through user-friendly graphical interfaces of touch-screen monitors, or even on their mobile phones.
