I chose commerce with Mathematics as one of my core subjects in Class 11. During these two years of Class 11 and 12, I developed a strong interest in Accounts and Business Management and wanted to know more about this field. This was the reason for me to decide that I wanted to pursue a degree in BBA in graduation. As Accounts as a subject was fascinating to me, I dig deep into the scope of the subject and figured out that Accounts is not limited to Book Keeping but has a wider scope in terms of Finance of the corporate world. JIMS Kalkaji - Jagannath International Management School provides a platform for the students to upgrade the skills required in the corporate world and make them industry-ready. It provides them with an ample number of opportunities to learn and explore their area of interest, enhance their expertise and secure good placements. Before finalising this college, I interacted with some of the alumni of the institute and basis their feedback, I decided to pursue my post-graduation degree from JIMS, Kalkaji.

Besides fulfilling the eligibility criteria, one also has to appear for any nationally accepted management qualifying exam to qualify for admissions to PGDM programme. I appeared for MAT exam and to prepare for the same, I chose to study on my own without the help of any coaching institute. Based on my hard work and consistency, I was able to secure 95% in MAT which made me eligible for almost all institutes across Delhi that accepts MAT scores. Out of all the options available, I took a rational decision to choose JIMS, Kalkaji as it offers enormous opportunities to its students in terms of placement, curriculum and many other aspects. As a part of the admission process, all aspirants have to undergo a Group Discussion and a Personal Interview round. And finally, after clearing all rounds, I was offered the letter of admission from JIMS, Kalkaji and 25 per cent scholarship on the basis of my MAT score.

I have recently joined this institute. The classes these days are being conducted online due to the novel Coronavirus but JIMS is setting an example of how innovative and fruitful the online classes can be. They regularly conduct different activities, webinars and competitions to keep students motivated during the pandemic and bring us different opportunities to realise our hidden potential. JIMS Kalkaji equally focuses on non-curricular activities to bring the best out of their students. The faculty in JIMS is very supportive and ready to help. I really like to attend PDP sessions that aim to improve our soft skills. They also invite alumni for regular interaction to share insightful information about their professional life and share their experiences. There are various clubs in our college such as NSS, Finance, Marketing, HR and many others. Students can join the respective clubs as per their areas of interest. After entering into JIMS, I started realising how B-School can help in shaping your career. I am glad I took the right decision and choose JIMS as my college.
