Bharati Vidyapeeth (BV) is a deemed-to-be-university and an educational organisation that was first established as an institute in 1964. The institute was established in Pune by Dr Patangrao Kadam, an Indian educationist and politician. Gradually, more higher education institutes were set up under the aegis of Bharati Vidyapeeth in different parts of Maharashtra as well as Delhi.
In 1996, the Government of India, on the recommendation of the University Grants Commission (UGC), granted the status of ‘Deemed-to-be-University’ to a cluster of 12 institutions of Bharati Vidyapeeth.
