For sports, St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi has football grounds, basketball grounds, volleyball grounds and indoor game facilities available.

Established in the year 1944, St. Xavier’s College is a Minority Higher Educational Institution based on religion. The college is established and administered by the Ranchi Jesuit Province Society of Jesus and is located in an urban vicinity in Ranchi, Jharkhand. The college is affiliated with Ranchi University. The college earned its autonomous status from the University Grants Commission in 2005 and gained “College with Potential for Excellence” status in 2006. 

St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi has the most conducive infrastructure, thereby providing a number of facilities to the students. The extensive infrastructure of the college includes classrooms, libraries, laboratories, seminar halls and all other amenities a student requires for smooth conduct in college. There are in total four buildings in the college in which educational activities take place. These buildings consist of classrooms, staff rooms, libraries, gym, office etc. A central auditorium, a Xerox centre, a bank, and a canteen are also available. For sports, the college has football grounds, basketball grounds, volleyball grounds and indoor game facilities available.

Classrooms: There are 79 spacious and Wi-Fi-equipped classrooms on the campus. Staff rooms and head rooms are amidst the classrooms, one each on every floor, to maintain discipline. Conference halls and seminar halls are also available. Many rooms are also equipped with projector facilities.

Central Research Library: The Central Research Library has state-of-the-art sophisticated equipment and modern analytical instruments present to help the undergraduate and postgraduate students, doctoral research scholars and faculty members of Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany and Geology. 

Library: This library is not only the oldest college library in the college but in the entire city of Ranchi. The library has 1,67,000 books and 105 national and international periodicals. Besides the central library, there are separate Departmental libraries along with a separate PG library. 

Auditorium: The College has a spacious and air-conditioned auditorium for various cultural activities, seminars, workshops, etc. It is well equipped with a sound system, projectors and other necessary requirements. 

Laboratory: St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi provides 32 highly-equipped laboratories for students of Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Bio-Technology, Geology, Computer Science and Geography. 

Language Lab: The College also has a well-equipped language lab with the latest software. 

Computer Lab: A huge computer lab is facilitated for students of the Computer Science Department, certificate courses or other required courses. The labs are also used during common entrance tests or placement tests. 

Tribal Research Centre: St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi is a minority higher education institution run by the Jesuit Higher Education Secretariat in Rome, thereby establishing a Tribal Research Centre (TRC). It was started as a private enterprise and works on the promotion of five different tribal languages- Mundari, Santhali, Kurukh, Kharia and Ho. In the promotion of indigenous languages and cultures, the centre publishes Tribal Magazines, Tribal Wall Calendar as well as other books on Tribal affairs. 

Dr Fr Camil Bulcke Research Centre: Dr Fr Camil Bulcke was a renowned Hindi scholar and a Belgian Missionary in Chhotanagpur. From 1950- 1977, he gave his services to St. Xavier’s College. He was the awardee of Padma Bhushan and wrote a number of books in his lifetime for lovers of Hindi. To honour him, authorities of Ranchi Province and Manresa House planned to set up a library dedicated to him. 

Parking area The College offers a huge indoor parking area for its students. There are different areas available for parking. The students can opt for any of them only after getting a proper parking card made by the college itself.

Canteen: 4- 5 different varieties and different levels of canteens are available at different locations in the college where the students can walk in for some good food.
