The Board has warned and advised the ‘mischievous’ elements involved in spreading fake news and rumours to restrain themselves from such unlawful activities.
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) issued an important notice for students, parents, and teachers alerting them against the fake news and rumours that are making rounds on different social media platforms. The board has advised students and parents not to pay heed to them.
In response to the fake videos and messages on social media regarding the board exams, CBSE, which is preparing for the annual board exams for class 10 and 12, requested the public to cooperate with them for the smooth functioning and conduction of Board examination 2020. The Board has also appealed not to participate in spreading of rumours or believe any baseless information.
According to the notice, certain unscrupulous elements intend to spread rumours by hosting fake videos/messages on news platforms/ social media platforms like YouTube, FaceBook, Twitter etc. to spread confusion and panic amongst students, parents, schools, and the general public.
The Board has warned and advised the mischievous elements involved in spreading fake news and rumours to restrain themselves from such unlawful activities. As stated in the notice, immediate remedial action as necessary and measures as per provisions of the law will be taken by the CBSE, in case any such information comes to the notice the Board.
CBSE board exams 2020 will begin on February 15. Class 10 examinations will conclude on March 20 and class 12 exams will be held till March 30. CBSE Class 10 exam is known as All India Secondary School Exam (AISSE) and the class 12 exam is known as All India Senior School Certificate Exam (AISSCE).
