The introduction is aimed at discouraging rote learning and developing critical thinking and reasoning abilities of the students.
Some of the changes being introduced are- More internal choices, reduction in the number of questions, an increase in the number of objective type questions and reduction in subjective questions and introduction of internal assessment in all subjects. The internal choices will be implemented on 33% of the questions. One-mark objective type questions will be around 25% of the questions in all the subjects. Internal assessment will count for 20% marks in the subjects that don’t have any practical assessment, said Nishank while replying to a question on the topic raised by MPs Chirag Paswan and Keshari Dev Patel.
The changes are being planned for 2019-20 session for classes 10th and 12th.
