Considering the health and safety of the students, the authority has asked students to attend classes on alternate days, which means only 50 percent of the total strength will be allowed to attend school in a day.

School Reopening: Amid the declining cases of the novel coronavirus, the Chhattisgarh government on September 1 released an official order allowing private and government schools to reopen schools for Classes 6, 7, 9 and 11 with 50 per cent attendance from Thursday, i.e. September 2, an official said on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the state has resumed schools for Classes 1 to 5, 8, 10 and 12 from August 1. According to TOI, the official from the public relations department said a fresh order permitting the resumption of physical school for Classes 6, 7, 9 and 11 was issued by the school education department.

According to the order, schools located in rural areas will have to get consent from gram panchayats and parents' committees to conduct classes. Meanwhile, recommendations will also be mandatory from ward corporators and parents' committees for institutions situated in urban areas. Chhattisgarh government has decided to commence schools only in districts having low coronavirus positivity rate, i.e. below one per cent for seven days. Considering the health and safety of the students, the authority has asked them to attend classes on alternate days, which means only 50 percent of the total strength will be allowed to attend school in a day. Meanwhile, schools will not allow children suffering from cough, cold and fever to attend classes.

The order also states that no school can force any student to attend school. Online classes will continue as before and students will have the option to attend either offline or online classes. Schools will also have to ensure following all the precautions laid down by the government in order to avoid the spread of the novel coronavirus.
