On account of the lockdown extension declared by the Telangana government, all the Common Entrance Tests (CETs) have been rescheduled to take place in the next month.

On account of the lockdown extension declared by the Telangana government, all the Common Entrance Tests (CETs) have been rescheduled to take place in next months. The exams include PGECET-2020, ICET-2020, PECET-2020, LAWCET-2020, PGLCET-2020, EAMCET-2020, ECET-2020, and EdCET-2020. The Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) also confirmed that the application form submission has been deferred. TSCHE is the official agency that conducts CETS in the state. The Council has also informed that the next dates for all the CETs would be announced later. It further stated that due to extension of lockdown by the government, the last date for payment of fee and submission of online application for all the CETS 2020 without late fee is extended upto May 5, 2020.

According to official notification on the official portal of TSCHE, all CETS have been cancelled. It further informed that the next dates would be announced later. On behalf of TSCHE, the Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET) 2020 is being held by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad. For the academic year 2020-21, this examination is essential for admission into several professional courses offered in University or Private Colleges in the state of Telangana.

On Sunday, the Telangana government decided to extend the lockdown in the state till April 30 to evade the spread of COVID-19. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao observed that tough steps were needed to ensure that Telangana was protected. He noted that the state shares a long border with Maharashtra, where the virus spread is rapid.
