Uttar Pradesh government has started taking online lessons for the students during the lockdown period using YouTube channel.
Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Department or Madhyamik Shiksha Vibhag has started a YouTube channel to impart educational lessons to students during the lockdown period.
To avoid any academic loss of the students, the YouTube channel has been started by the UP government which has been named 'Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Vibhag'. The channel has educational content, including past videos that were aired on Doordarshan to make children watch and learn at their own convenience.
On May 1, the UP Secondary Education Board had started broadcasting special classes for students in UP Class 12th Board and UP Class 10th Board on Doordarshan (DD). It is for the first time that Madhyamik Shiksha Vibhag had broadcasted lessons.
The educational lessons that are being broadcasted on DD or uploaded on Youtube will also prove beneficial for job sector as the department has virtually turned into a production house, from recording to editing to verifying and finally airing content on-air (with minimal resources available due to the lockdown and no previous experience of such a technical job).
"In addition, the department is also planning to employ other online methods also to see that children do not fall behind the curriculum. The books ( e-version) for the new session have also been made available on the website of the Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad," Aradhana Shukla, Principal Secretary Govt of UP, Secondary Education Department, said.
While talking about other virtual methods of teaching adopted by the department to impart education during the lockdown, she said, the interactive 'Whatsapp Virtual Class' program has been started to teach the students. About 2.15 lakh groups of 2.82 lakh teachers and 54.07 lakh students are connected through this. It must be a record of sorts. In order to monitor them, senior officers are also joining different groups.
