The Central Board of Secondary Education has extended the last date for schools to apply or renew their affiliation to June 30, 2020.
In wake of ongoing nationwide coronavirus lockdown, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the last date for schools to apply or renew their affiliation with the board. The schools now can renew or apply for affiliation on or before June 30, 2020.
The announcement regarding the same was released by the CBSE on its official website cbse.nic.in.
"Keeping in view the current coronavirus situation in the country, the competent authority of the Board, after due consideration, had accorded approval for extension of online submission of application for all categories further till June 30," the notice released by CBSE stated.

Earlier, CBSE had set the last date of applying for affiliations of schools for March 30. However, with the coronavirus outbreak in the country, the date was further pushed to April 30. Now, with the nationwide lockdown period being extended to May 3 by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the last date of affiliations has been further pushed to June 30.
"The schools whose application for affiliation/upgradation/ extension are still under process will require to submit online clarification/compliance/documents to the Board within 30 days of communication," the notice further stated.
Earlier, due to the rising number of positive cases of coronavirus in the country, all the educational institutes in the country were shut down. CBSE had also postponed the exams and the Board is expected to release the fresh dates of exams after the lockdown is uplifted.
