Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, Bhupesh Baghel, requested the schools to extend the last date of fee submission.

The school education department of Chhattisgarh ordered all the schools located within the boundaries of the state to extend the last date of fee submission. The novel coronavirus led 21 days nationwide lockdown extended the closure of academic institutions, postponement of examinations, and suspensions of classes. While schools and universities are shifting to e-learning modules to prevent loss of studies and keep students connected to the process of learning, there are schools and universities that have started harassing parents and students to pay academic fees on time.

In order to prevent this harassment, the government of Chhattisgarh released an official statement directing academic institutions including private schools to extend the last date to deposit the school fees.

According to the statement released by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, Bhupesh Baghel, the schools of the state are requested to extend the last date of fees submission. While talking to the media, the CM stated, ‘many private schools are sending messages to students' parents to deposit school fees. It is not appropriate to pressurize them for fees at such times. All schools have been instructed to postpone the recovery of fees during Coronavirus Lockdown in Chhattisgarh.

The CM’s statement clearly states that the country is under a severe crisis that has ruptured the health, economy, and education system of human society. In order to control the virus spread, the lockdown is implemented and people are asked to stay inside their homes and practice social distancing. The total number of positive coronavirus cases in India has reached 2094 claiming the lives of 57 people.
