The Kashmir School Education Department in collaboration with All India Radio will start conducting audio classes for students in the state from next week.
With an aim to avoid any academic loss of students during the nationwide coronavirus lockdown, the School Education Department in Kashmir has decided to start audio classes in collaboration with the All India Radio from next week.
The teachers will be delivering the lessons as per the curriculum and through the medium of radio, it will reach to the students who are currently at home. This has been done to keep students active and in-touch with their studies.
The lessons will be aired on All India Radio, Srinagar during day time for which time slots have already been specified by the station, the officials said.
On March 26, the Directorate of School Education (DSEK), Kashmir had started tele-classes through the Kashmir channel of Doordarshan Kendra, Srinagar. The Department conducts two classes daily and covers the syllabus of both elementary and secondary classes. The department has also reached out to students through local cable networks which telecast the lessons prepared by DSEK.
The DSEK has connected to a large number of students through its digital platform and video classes have been kept available for students on its YouTube channel which is linked to the official website of the DSEK.
"These online platforms have been kept available for children so that they do not feel isolated and can continue with their studies while staying at their home due to lockdown. The department is looking out for all options to reach out to students online and offline so that their studies do not hamper due to coronavirus outbreak," Mohammad Younis Malik, Director, School Education, Kashmir said
