The scanned answer sheets in online Open Book Exams (OBE) will be evaluated digitally, the varsity directed the principals of colleges.
The Delhi University (DU) has directed the principals of colleges under it that the scanned answer sheets that were submitted by students after appearing in online Open Book Exams (OBE) will be evaluated digitally. It further informed them the answer sheets will be an evaluation by the concerned subject teachers only either digitally or in electronic mode. The online OBE for undergraduate and postgraduate courses started on August 10 and will end on August 31.
Earlier, the teachers and students have opposed to this mode of conducting the exams. Students have also alleged that they are facing issues while uploading the answer sheets. Students appearing for Delhi University's Open Book Exam for political science paper also complaint that they received a mock exam paper in place of the real paper on the day of the exam.
Final year students of BA (Honours) Political Science said that at 11.30 am, when they logged into the portal, they found a question paper and they started solving it only to realise later that it was the question paper that was given to them during mock exams. Later, the correct question paper was uploaded by the varsity at 12 pm.
In a letter, the varsity informed the college principals that, “For the purpose, the examiners shall be provided access to the portal individually. The examiners after evaluation shall submit their response/ award on the portal itself that shall be recorded for the purpose of the result compilation.”
They have been asked to make the required information and communication technology infrastructure available to those who will evaluate the answer sheets in the college itself.
