Mode, Registration Process & Timeline
GLA University being one of the best private universities starts its admission process for the new academic session in the month of March itself and it goes on till July 31. The university conducts its own entrance test in online mode and is known as GLAET. Admission to almost all the courses offered at GLA University is through GLAET except for a PhD.
The interested students can apply for any course by paying an application fee of INR 700 for courses except DPharma, Diploma in Engineering & B.Ed., for which the application fee is INR 500 which can be deposited either online or offline as per the student's convenience. All those who want to apply in an offline mode need to download the application form, fill it out carefully and send it to the university through registered post.
After the successful completion of registration & payment, the student will receive an e-mail about the same on the registered mail-id asking to book the slot for taking the test as per his/ her availability & suitability. The result is generally declared within 2-3 days post the exam. So, the process is quite fast and easy. All those who apply for MBA & B.Pharma courses are required to appear for an interview after the written test. The dates for the interview are communicated via e-mail one to two days before the scheduled time slot. For group discussion, having an idea of what’s going around in the country & globe etc helps. For a personal interview, work on communication skills and don’t try to bluff if you don’t know the answer.
The branches in engineering are allocated on the basis of the rank secured by the student in the written test. All the original documents are verified at the time of reporting, for all those who have not received their final results, provisional admission is given on production of provisional results and the admission is final after submitting the required documents. For all such cases, sufficient time is provided.
After the final results are published, all the selected candidates have to submit the token amount to confirm their seats in the respective courses. The reporting dates & commencement of the session are communicated via email.
Other Exams Accepted at GLA University
The eligibility criteria for engineering aspirants is that one must have scored 50% aggregate in 10+2 with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects. For MBA aspirants, admission is through GLAET or CAT, MAT, XAT, UPSEE, etc. The preference is given to the candidates securing a good percentile in national-level tests. A five per cent relaxation in the eligibility criteria is provided to the SC/ST students.
GLAET: Exam Pattern & Duration
The GLAET consists of multiple choice type questions; for every right answer 4 marks are awarded and 1 mark is deducted for each wrong answer. Engineering students have a total of 90 MCQ-type questions and 120 minutes to solve them. The paper has 20 questions from Physics, 45 from Mathematics & 25 from English. For B.Pharma aspirants, there are a total of 75 questions including 10, 15 & 30 questions from English, Physics & Chemistry respectively & 20 from Maths or Biology.
In Mathematics, please go through topics such as Algebra, Statistics, Dynamics, Trigonometry, Probability, etc. For English try to work on topics such as Antonyms, Spellings, Common Errors, Sentence Completion, Preposition, Articles, Synonyms, One Word Substitutions, etc.
In Chemistry, Coordination Chemistry, Chemical Kinetics, General Organic Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemistry in everyday life, Thermodynamics, Electrochemistry, etc.
In Physics, questions are generally asked from Optics Physics, Mechanics Physics, Modern physics, Solid-state Physics, General Physics, Relativity Physics, Electricity & Magnetism, Elementary Electronics, Heat Thermodynamics, etc. For all the subjects, please go through NCERT textbooks carefully and you can score good. The test is of moderate level and basic questions are generally asked.
